In Step 5: Identify Outputs, read models are introduced into the event model. Read Models represent state, and are represented on the model as green boxes. Each state is the result of transforming information contained in some set of events. Most of time, a simple list is all that is needed. At the beginning of each month, my wife creates a beautiful, color coordinated Read Model to keep the family on track with all of our activities and commitments. This week had some notable activities occur, which are now events written into the ledger of my life; 7th #Weezer Show Attended, 19th Wedding Anniversary Celebrated, Cheesecake's 2nd Birthday Celebrated (Cheesecake is our 🐈⬛). In this step we add the read models, linking the events used to derive the state in the read model. Then link the read models to the screen which will display the information. To add clarity, highlight the outputs in green on the mockups. #UseEventModeling to #EventModel the #EventModeling process. 🍕 🍻 🤘🏼

Monday night, and ALO’s Barbeque is running through my mind, pulling me back to a line I used in my wedding vows: “The road is long and windy, full of twists and turns.” The song’s been a reminder over the years of how this journey can surprise us—throwing in subplots, unexpected turns, and a few dreams that don’t make it to the finish. But the reason these lyrics hit different tonight is because I found myself thinking about them again after a moment with my youngest son. Life throws us curveballs, and as much as we plan, sometimes our patience gets stretched thin. We chase dreams, hold onto visions, only to learn that some of those dreams are there to get us moving but aren’t meant to last.
