Dottir advised the lead investor NordicNinja VC in the EUR 36.5 million Series A funding round of Onego Bio. The round was participated by Tesi, EIT Food as well as previous investors Agronomics Limited, Maki.vc, Holdix, and Turret. This is one of the largest early-stage startup funding rounds in the Nordics. Onego Bio, founded in 2022, commercializes a method developed at VTT (Technical Research Centre of Finland), where the main protein of egg white, ovalbumin, is produced without production animals - in other words, egg white without chickens. With the new funding, Onego intends to focus on scaling its operations and entering the market with contract manufacturers. NordicNinja is the largest Japanese VC in Europe, backing companies tackling the world’s carbon footprint with a focus on climate tech, deeptech, and digital society. #dottirlaw #techtransactions

🚚 Exciting Times Ahead for Bar.on! We're on the Move! 🚚 After a fantastic time at BlueChem in Antwerp, it's time for the next chapter. We're thrilled to announce that Bar.on is moving to the Bio-Incubator in Leuven! 🌱 Not only does this bring us back to where it all started, but we’re also landing right near professor Kevin Verstrepen's lab - a spot full of inspiration and innovation. The new lab space is massive compared to what we’re used to, and we can't wait to stretch out and take full advantage of it. But, as with any move, there’s a bit of heavy lifting involved (literally!). We’re busy boxing up, stacking pallets, shrink-wrapping everything, and trucking it all back and forth a few times. 💪 It’s definitely demanding, but the excitement of this big leap forward makes it all worth it! Cylib, our favorite German battery recycling startup, just bagged €55M in Series A funding! Impact/100 alumni cylib's mission is crucial as Europe faces a tidal wave of 2,100 kilotonnes of end-of-life batteries by 2040. Their approach? Be water, my friend. Cylib’s water-based process recovers every component in lithium-ion batteries—like lithium, cobalt, and graphite. It’s an eco-friendly, cost-effective game-changer that lets European manufacturers source these metals locally. Now, they’re gearing up to build their first large-scale facility and ramp up recycling capacity.
