Freefall ⬇️ While most freedivers see #freefall as the best part of a deep dive, for me, it’s been a challenge for quite some time. During a descent, there comes a point where, thanks to negative buoyancy, the diver can let go of all swimming movements and simply “fall” into the depths. It’s about release, surrendering to the ocean. Over these two weeks of training in Sharm el Sheikh and Dahab, my focus was exclusively to work on freefall and this time, I was determined to finally stop finning down to the bottom. First step is to reduce depth in order to work in a confort zone, repetition after repetition. This round, my dives were no deeper than 65m. Each session was very intense, though…like whenever a change needs to be introduced. My dives are changing shape, dive times are slightly increasing and perhaps the biggest breakthrough is that I am slowly learning to appreciate what once felt unconfortable. Moments like these are essential in any #journey: sometimes we need to accept a step back to move forward (or deeper😊). The outdoor season is over for me, and I am very happy on how it went. New PBs, new experiences, new challenges, this spring-summer 2024 was very intense and looking forward for more to come. Meanwhile, to cope with nostalgia of the Sea, I start planning next season ahead 🌊 as best as feasible. #freediving #monofin #motivation #ocean #training #depth
