Remember helicopter parents? They excessively control every minute of their kids' lives. We all know one or two (and maybe we're recovering from this behavior ourselves). Hate to say it, but some agents can be just as overbearing, especially at open houses. This is a harrrrd no for me. When it comes to planning open houses with sellers, I live by one mantra: *Present but not pushy* I want sellers to feel confident that their open house will be warm and inviting, allowing guests to explore freely. Sure, I'm there if they need me, but I'm always in the background — friendly and welcoming but never intrusive. Some people tend to post about how they do things for those who served. Of those who post these things, some do it to show what they do and it is genuine and from the heart a true calling, driven by spirit and embedded in their soul. Others flood social media looking for the glory, the pat on the back and believe it is competition. When the "flooding ones " or " glory hounds" become confronted with a contradiction to what they do they ted to divert the subject going as far as dropping names to colleagues of the name dropped, even though they are not affiliated with the organization or their so called "mission". Before touting what you do and posting about it , get it done and help or assist the Veteran, making sure it is a sustainable effect not a "feel good " moment. #RealVeteransNetwork #veterans #gloryhounds #sustainableassistance #machmarine

Today, on Veterans Day, we honor and express our gratitude to all who have served. It’s also a moment for us to reflect on how we can give back to our Veterans after their service. We need to consider how we can do more to address the mental health challenges Veterans face, ensure they receive job training and employment opportunities, and make certain they aren’t left without shelter or the means to buy a home. When our Veterans pass, we must also support their families. One critical yet simple step is requiring the VA to sign the death certificate of a Veteran within 72 hours. Currently, it can take up to 8 weeks for this process. In many cases, a local coroner or medical examiner must intervene for the grieving family. This delay adds unnecessary stress, postpones burial, and hinders access to death benefits and the Veteran’s bank accounts or other assets. As we remember and honor all our Veterans today, let’s commit to supporting them, even after they’re gone. It starts with the simple act of promptly signing a death certificate.
