You can gauge the caliber of a company by the types of projects they undertake and the clients they serve. Genesys International, a prominent mapping company from India, has recently been entrusted with a significant project for NEOM, worth Rs. 35 Cr. What is NEOM? NEOM is a territory of 26,500 sq Km (larger than entire state of Meghalaya) in Saudi Arabia undergoing the world's most innovative and visionary transformation in urban planning. It's going to change the way we are going to live on the planet. NEOM comprises of 4 regions: 1. The Line: A linear city designed to house nine million residents in walkable communities. 2. Oxagon: A floating industrial complex. 3. Trojena: A futuristic ski resort. 4. Sindalah: A luxury island resort This collaboration highlights Genesys International's expertise and reputation in the industry, as they contribute to one of the most ambitious smart city projects in the world. For those who don't know what NEOM is, its a Saudi Arabian mega-project that is like playing SimCity with an unlimited budget. During my recent virtual meeting with Dubai resident Vighnesh Mohota, a discussion around the city's real estate investment dominated our conversation. While acknowledging Dubai's established opportunities, Vighnesh identified a burgeoning competitor: Saudi Arabia. Highlighting key projects driving the Kingdom's real estate boom, but one stood out: Neom. This $500 billion megacity in the northwest is the future garden of Eden. Renewable energy will power the whole city and feature smart technologies. NEOM will comprise several interconnected projects, including: ↪ The Line: A 170-kilometer linear city with zero cars and zero emissions. ↪ Oxagon: An industrial zone focused on advanced manufacturing and logistics. ↪ Sindalah: A luxury island resort destination showcasing the Red Sea's natural beauty. ↪ Trojena: A mountain tourism project offering year-round skiing and other winter sports. ↪ The Red Sea Project: This $5 billion tourism development on the Red Sea coast aims to create a sustainable luxury tourism destination with luxury resorts, pristine beaches, and eco-conscious practices. ↪ Qiddiya: An entertainment and sports city near Riyadh, featuring theme parks, motorsports facilities, and cultural attractions. ↪ Diriyah Gate: A $50 billion heritage and cultural tourism project near Riyadh, revitalizing the historic Diriyah district, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. ↪ Jeddah Tower: Set to become the world's tallest building upon completion, this iconic tower in Jeddah will be a mixed-use development with residential, commercial, and hotel space. ↪ The King Salman Park:  A massive urban park in Riyadh, offering green spaces, recreational facilities, and cultural attractions. ↪ New Murabba:  A new downtown district for Riyadh, aiming to become a vibrant and sustainable urban center with residential, commercial, and cultural offerings. ↪ Masar:  A high-speed railway network connecting major cities across Saudi Arabia, boosting tourism and economic development.
