Plus she shared some of her top tips for other small charities looking to launch a legacy campaign including: 📚 Do your research: Before starting your campaign, take a look at what other charities are doing - look at their websites and social media and get a feel for what is possible and what you think would land best with your supporters. The Leg up for Legacies community is also really helpful and contains many useful blog posts and webinars. 🗣 Drip feed the message: Make sure your whole team is comfortable with talking to supporters about legacy giving and drip-feed it into all your comms. It often takes a while to see results, but the more familiar your supporters are with your campaign, what you offer and how it makes a difference, the more legacy pledges you are likely to receive. Let's run the numbers on Mean vs. Median and see which 'average' really deserves the spotlight in your fundraising strategy. Let's say these 5 donations represent 500 (because who doesn't love a good statistical shortcut?): $500 $1000 $1200 $2000 $30000 Mean average = $6,940 Median average = $1,200 Now, ask yourself: *Which average better reflects the majority of your donor base? *Which one will help you design a campaign that inspires generosity across the board? *Which one screams, “You need a major gifts program ASAP”?
