Want to make a podcast host love you? Make it all about them. I don’t mean by sucking up. I mean by knowing what their audience needs and delivering that. By doing your prep work before the show. By respecting their time and brand. By promoting the show with more than just a couple of posts. Running a podcast is a lot of work (been there, done that), and the host didn’t pick you because you’re nice. They picked you because they think it’ll be good for their show and audience. Repay that in every way you can. Treat them as if they were a star client and overdeliver.

This is something we don't talk about enough: Imposter Syndrome Betty Dannewitz has recorded an excellent Podcast series on Imposter Syndrome. Imposter Syndrome can be an issue for anyone. Left unresolved, imposter syndrome can impact your mental health. In Betty's series, you can learn about imposter syndrome through the eyes of professionals who've experienced it and learn techniques for overcoming it.

It’s not about how you started. It’s about what keeps you going. When I started my podcast, I felt the pain of: - Not knowing what to do  - Not knowing how to do it  - Embarrassing episodes - Failing again and again  - Cringey production I was frustrated. All I wanted was to be a great podcast host. But I was going in circles over and over again. It was more than simply talking to people on the internet. This started a 4 year journey to understand: - How to tell my story - How to record effortlessly - How to produce great episode - How to interview amazing guests - How to build the simple business That pain that got me started turned into curiosity. To this day, I get lost in fine tuning the weirdest of things: The camera, lights, sounds, the pointless background tree. Everything rolls up to the final product. Breaking news: I went on LinkedIn Live as a guest... and somehow lived to tell the tale. The best part? I didn’t knock over my coffee, forget my own name, or accidentally log off mid-sentence. (Low bar, but let’s celebrate small wins, right?) Now I’m left with a dangerous thought: If I can survive this, should I start a podcast? I mean, I’ve already mastered the art of talking into the void while hoping someone’s listening. Seems like the natural next step.
