💯 of air blow guns are used for blowing something... The problem then becomes the operator is always has a potential risk for eye injuries. While safety glasses and ppe are required when using air blow guns there are other ways to help further reduce that risk. 🛡️A physical safety shield is great for larger chips and debris. 💨 An air shield is great for powder and smaller debris. This create a cone of air to redirect debris away from the operator and great for tight spaces. 📏An air blow gun with a longer extension help put distance between the operator and the debris. *It is not uncommon for my customers for have both a long extension AND an air shield depending on the application. 🧲The last option is to completely remove the operator from the hazard by adding an engineered nozzle with a magnetic base for quick intsall. DM me to see if one of these options could work for you. Follow for more safety tips! #safety #ehs #workplacesafety #manufacturing

🦺 Ensuring your equipment has rollover protection (ROPS) and wearing seatbelts can be the difference between injury and walking away safely. In a rollover, ROPS acts as a protective box, and the seatbelt keeps you inside it. 🌧️ Make sure training includes safe operation on slopes in all weather conditions, proper boom, arm, and counterweight positioning. ✅ Always wear the seatbelt when operating powered mobile equipment and check seatbelts for good condition. 🛡️ Stay safe! #SafetyFirst #StaySafe #SafetyAware #SecureLife #ProtectionPledge #SafetyCulture #SafeHands #PreventionPriority #SafetyIsKey #GuardedLif #SafeJourney #SafetyNet #SecureSteps #SafetyCheck #ProtectAndProsper #safetyjobs #experttrainersacademy

Wearing the proper gear for demolition is crucial for safety. Tyvek suits provide a protective barrier against dust, debris, and hazardous materials, ensuring your body is shielded. A mask, such as an N95 or respirator, filters out airborne particles, safeguarding your respiratory system. Together, this gear creates a comprehensive defense, allowing you to work confidently in potentially hazardous environments.

Modified or homemade air blow guns can be dangerous even if built with the best intentions. Operators have certain tasks to complete every day and if the tools they are provided do not fit their needs they will most likely be modified in some way. Too often I see one or two air blow guns options across all departments. While this is great for procurement reasons, the operators tasks can vary greatly that a blow gun that works for one application may not be appropriate for another. Here are a couple of the "inventions" that I have had the privilege of seeing: During one customer visit to a machine shop, we saw an air gun with a wobbly Gatorade lid on the blow pipe. He explained that there was splash back when he was blowing out holes with coolant and the gatorade lid blocked it! This was a quick fix with a safety shield (<$20) that was specifically made for air blow guns. On another visit to an aerospace company an operator had bent a pipe and drilled several holes in it to get an "air wipe or knife" pattern. This was extremely loud but he needed a wide coverage to clean out the honeycombs. Again quick fix, with an air blow gun with a flat nozzle Finally, on a visit to a paper mill and potentially the most dangerous was a 1/2" pipe that was 60" long with ball valve. The goal here was to be able to reach into the paper machine. These are not OSHA compliant because there is no where for the air to escape if blocked and reduce below 30 psi. Also, if this gun was dropped there is no automatic shut off. Silvent high force blow guns can get the operator the force they need, with extensions available up to 80" and ALL have automatic shut off. While these are only a few cases they all could have been avoided with a quick conversation! ✅ Share this with your safety manager ✅ Follow for more safety content! #safety #OSHA #EHS #innovation #manufacturing

Proper protective gear can save thousands of lives each year. Before you head out on the road, make sure that you’re wearing a helmet that is correctly fitted to your head. Make sure that your helmet meets federal safety standards by looking for the “DOT” symbol on the back of it. Watch out for fake symbols that may be used to sell unsafe helmets.
