This push follows the significant success Vietnamese durians have seen in the Chinese market, with exports reaching over US$2.2 billion last year. Despite these achievements, challenges in adhering to import regulations have surfaced, including frequent inspections for plant diseases and food safety concerns. Issues with traceability and compliance have also arisen, with some packaging facilities reportedly procuring durians from unregistered areas, leading to problems with product origin and process adherence. Vy stressed the necessity for a structured legal framework to protect and sustain the industry’s growth. Drawing parallels, Vy pointed to Thailand’s durian market, which has flourished globally due... https://lnkd.in/g3VfkiSR

China remained in 2023 the third largest export market worldwide for European food and beverage products, behind the United Kingdom and the United States. F&B is a sector in which small and medium-sized enterprises generate around 40% of the industry's turnover in the EU, with a large potential for market diversification and export growth. The #EuropeanUnion has consistently recorded a positive balance in its #agrifood exchanges with external markets, including with #China. In 2023, the EU achieved a worldwide trade surplus of EUR 70 billion in the agri-food sector. However, the majority of European #SMEs continue to export only within the #SingleMarket, due to difficulties that come with navigating for the first time other markets' regulatory requirements. To help first-time exporters to China, we have gathered all our free online #foodandbeverage resources in a single page. Find here all our publications on F&B, including the 2024 guidelines showing you step by step how to register with CIFER to start exporting to the #Chinesemarket: https://lnkd.in/evw6hPe9

🌏 Facing unique challenges in global exports! Australian food manufacturers are renowned for their high-quality produce, but meeting global export standards isn't without its hurdles. One major challenge is the stringent regulatory requirements that vary from country to country. Each market has its own set of rules, making it complex for manufacturers to ensure compliance across the board. Another significant issue is the high cost of production. Australian manufacturers often deal with higher labour and operational costs compared to their global counterparts. This can make it difficult to compete on price while maintaining the same level of quality and safety. Supply chain logistics also pose a challenge. Given Australia's geographical location, transporting goods to international markets can be both time-consuming and costly. Ensuring that products remain fresh and meet quality standards throughout the journey adds another layer of complexity. ✅ Regulatory compliance ✅ High production costs ✅ Supply chain logistics What are your thoughts on these challenges? In the ever-evolving landscape of global demand and logistics, the import and export of food have become increasingly common. However, navigating the regulatory waters of different countries can be a challenging task, particularly when working within the frameworks of China's GB standards and the Food Standards Australia New Zealand (FSANZ). China's GB standards are known for their specificity and stringent requirements. A recent update to GB19644-2024, which now encompasses standards for niche milk products such as yak milk, serves as a prime example of the meticulous detail these regulations can entail. In contrast, FSANZ operates with a broader approach, lacking the same level of detailed requirements and limitations for individual food categories. This disparity presents a significant hurdle for Australian and New Zealander food products aiming to enter the Chinese market. Compliance checks can become perplexing endeavors, fraught with confusion and the potential for costly oversights. Despite these challenges, the importance of a robust compliance check system cannot be overstated. It serves as a crucial step in ensuring products meet all necessary regulations, safeguarding public health, and facilitating successful market entry. As the global food trade continues to grow, developing effective strategies to navigate these complex regulatory environments will be paramount for businesses looking to expand their international footprint. #InternationalTrade #FoodRegulations #Compliance #ChinaGB #FSANZ #GlobalFoodMarket

4wGreat topic! One major issue often overlooked is the integration of technology in the supply chain. Utilizing blockchain for traceability can significantly enhance transparency and trust, ensuring that meat products are safe and of high quality. Additionally, leveraging AI for demand forecasting can help mitigate the risks associated with fluctuating demand and reduce waste. Collaboration between stakeholders, from producers to retailers, is also crucial for creating a more resilient and sustainable supply chain.
