Christmas break? For marketers, it’s anything but. Marketing doesn’t stop just because it’s Christmas. In fact, it ramps up: Last-minute Christmas promos need attention. New Year offers have to be lined up. And don’t forget prepping campaigns for all the exciting launches coming in January. But here’s the thing, I’ve got a team with families who deserve a proper break. And as a business owner with my own family, I get it. Everyone needs time to switch off and enjoy the holidays. That’s why we’ve been working ahead of schedule. Every client update, every campaign, every festive push, it’s all ready to roll, so my team can actually take the time off they’ve earned. Because while marketing never really sleeps, the people behind it need to! Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas!

Marketing friends, we're in that magical (and intense) season where we're creating holiday campaigns while trying to live our own holiday moments. My toddler just discovered the joy of Christmas lights and seasonal magic, and I find myself switching between campaign metrics and making memories - sometimes within the same hour. Whether you're: - Racing to hit EOY marketing goals - Building Q1 strategies - Managing stakeholder expectations - AND trying to find those perfect gifts - AND attempting to keep up family traditions - AND hoping to catch your breath somewhere in between Remember this: Everyone's carrying their own version of the holiday shuffle. Parent or not, this season asks a lot of us both professionally and personally. So check in on your marketing buddies. Take that coffee break. Give yourself permission to not do ALL the things perfectly. We're all trying to make magic happen - both at work and at home. Here's to finding moments of joy in the beautiful chaos. ✨

Christmas Marketing Through a Different Lens For most people, Christmas marketing is something to enjoy—or ignore—amid the festive rush. For me, it’s different. As someone immersed in marketing, I can’t help but dissect every ad, promotion, or campaign I see. Who is their target audience? Why did they promote it here? What are they trying to say? Did they really communicate their value proposition? And, most importantly, do they truly understand their audience? Even with big brands, I’m often left mystified. While I’d never dismiss their choices outright—marketing is complex—I sometimes wish I could sit down with their chief marketer and ask, why? Christmas is a time of stories and connection, and marketing plays a huge part in shaping those moments. This season, I challenge myself not only to critique but to learn. After all, every campaign tells a story—whether it resonates or leaves questions unanswered. How do you view holiday marketing?

🫵 You've planned holiday marketing campaigns for Q4. But are you tailoring it to your unique edge? For example, I work for an online grocery store. Yes, I could send out an email - Wishing customers - Offering time-limited discounts - Announcing holiday-themed contests That is great! But it is not our edge. EVERYBODY else is doing it. Unlike the grocery giants, We allow customers to enjoy the holidays without braving the infamous British winter for RARE groceries 🥶 That is our unique edge for Q4. What is your unique edge in Q4?
