“With the reconfiguration, bin space on the United E175s will increase by 80%, allowing up to 29 more carry-ons to be taken aboard. United estimates that the larger bins will nearly eliminate the gate checks that have been undertaken annually by approximately one million annual passengers on 150,000 E175 flights.” - TRAVEL WEEKLY #travel #business #airlineindustry #brand #businesstravel

𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐦𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐑𝐨𝐰 𝟏𝟑 𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐢𝐫𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐟𝐭? 𝐓𝐡𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐚 𝐜𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞. Airlines understand that even the smallest details can impact a passenger’s experience. One such detail? Triskaidekaphobia—the fear of the number 13. Since this number is viewed as unlucky in many cultures, some airlines choose to skip row 13 entirely, showing their sensitivity to passengers' superstitions and their commitment to a smooth, stress-free flight. In Europe, at least four airlines omit row 13, and in the U.S., the majority do the same. As long as passenger comfort remains a top priority, it’s unlikely we’ll see this "unlucky" row return. #livingaviation

Air New Zealand has faced a string of unusual incidents involving its Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft in recent months. From engine issues to weather-related challenges, these events have disrupted travel plans for numerous passengers and raised questions about the reliability of the aircraft type. >On July 29, 2024, Air New Zealand flight NZ946, bound for Rarotonga, made headlines when it was forced to return to Auckland after two unsuccessful landing attempts due to strong crosswinds. >Just weeks earlier, on July 4, 2024, Air New Zealand flight NZ81, en route to Hong Kong, had to turn back to Auckland due to a malfunctioning engine anti-ice system. > In February 2023, an Air New Zealand Boeing 787 flying from Auckland to New York made an unexpected return due to an undisclosed technical issue. Additionally, another 787 operating a flight to Chicago was forced to turn back due to a fuel usage discrepancy. While the aviation industry is inherently safe, the recurrence of these incidents raises questions about the reliability of the Boeing 787 Dreamliner. Air New Zealand, as well as Boeing, will undoubtedly be scrutinizing these events to identify any underlying issues and implement necessary corrective measures. #Airport #Airline #AirNewZealand #Boeing #B787 #AviationIndustry #AviationOasis https://lnkd.in/gD39VJWC

Today we recognize the International Day of the Air Traffic Controller. The day celebrates those who work hard to keep air travel safe. About 100,000 flights around the world take off and land each day. With so many planes in the air, it’s amazing that flying by plane is as safe as it is. The safety of air travel is largely attributed to air traffic controllers. These professionals direct air traffic on the ground at airport runways and taxiways. Air traffic controllers also monitor and direct the movement of planes through airspace. #Amerijet #aircargo #airtrafficcontroller

Why airlines are all-in on new single-aisle planes for transatlantic flights https://lnkd.in/gjBYEFUj The narrow body 757-200 flies 600 mph at 40,000 feet while maintaining near sea level cabin pressure. Avoid the time and massive cost involved with design , FAA certification and re-tooling of a new aircraft when the best most fuel efficient safest (analog panel and mechanical flight controls) commercial (pilots choice) aircraft in the world straight back into production wih "no changes" right down to the last rivet back into production in just one model configured as the last 757-200 ETOPS built for United Airlines (what you see is what you get) no changes !
