I was happy to see an excellent article in today’s NYTimes about an AI project I had a small part of last week at the Museum of Jewish Heritage. I was particularly surprised and honored to be mentioned. Many thanks to Joshua Mack and his group at the museum and the team from USC for doing this important work. https://lnkd.in/eBMcExm4

“My revenge is I’m here,” she said. Chills. Congrats on getting this recognition, Dan. Many years ago, I had the pleasure of meeting local legend Eva Kor, a survivor and guest speaker at K-12 schools across the state. At an after-session, we got to talk with her individually. She offered me her hand and showed me the tattoo on her arm, so matter-of-factly. As I held her hand, thoughts of what it had held and touched and witnessed were overwhelming. How can you not devolve into waterworks in front of “everybody’s grandma” (as she referred to herself, with a special heart for children), as she spoke about the power of forgiveness? There were no dry eyes in the room. It’s a good day when you see technology being used to create experiences with the power to reshape lives, even when someone is no longer with us to tell their story. Eva is one of the most important people I’ve ever met - I relate this story just to underscore the emotional (and real, practical value) of keeping a legacy alive and making it real for the next generation. Your work on this project is critical for society and education.
