Daniel Winer thank you for sharing this. Unfortunately, research and evidence is pointing a glaring arrow in this direction, however, as a company which helps develop these - there is huge resistance to actually offering these by employers! Early adopters are the ones who are reaping the benefits.

I wrote my MBA thesis on EQ many years ago, and yet we still talk about it today. Not much has changed despite people being more aware of it. It's about taking actions, being the good boss, and being self aware. Since adding mindfulness training, coaching, and other 'tools' to my 'tool box', I couldn't imagine a world without EQ and application of EQ in the workplace. Even when I was a wee boy, my grandmother used to say 'Volker, you get on with people, you will always have a job'. How right was she! That's why I love coaching people and also work in sales. Two passions, one skill....

EQ has a really important roll in a work space. Someone that can’t control their emotions can destroy people and companies. I worked in partnership with a children’s home and it was just sad how one of the leaders manipulate and mistreat people. And Her manipulation level didn’t stay in the staff, It went in to the children to the point that she has preferences with kids with “good” beheivior and she mistreat children with “bad” beheivior. That is why as a companies, institutions and others, we have to be really careful about who we put incharge. A person can be really telentet in what they do opperationally, but worth out a good level of EQ that person can DESTROY the place.
