The one-sided approach of architecture... The professional practice of architecture emphasizes creativity and technical skills in architectural design at the expense of creativity, design and skills in business. The business side is seen as a necessary evil (what needs to be done in order to achieve what really needs to be done - designing buildings). Innovation is encouraged, but only in architectural design, not in business. This results in a situation where the profession is innovative in creating beautiful spaces and buildings to for society to live and work, but having serious challenges in getting paid for the services provided. There needs to be the same amount of focus on the entrepreneurial/business side of architecture as in the design side. Both sides need creativity and innovation.
