🎨 Discover the history of generative art with Manfred Mohr
Generative Art uses algorithms and computational processes to produce unique and ever-evolving works. This groundbreaking movement has transformed traditional artistic practices, challenging the boundaries between art and science. When visiting Paris for Art Basel or Paris Photo, don’t miss the chance to experience the groundbreaking work of Manfred Mohr, one of the earliest artists to fuse art with technology.
🟢 Mohr’s Pioneering Work with Computers
Born in Pforzheim, Germany (1938), and now residing in New York, USA, Mohr has been a visionary in algorithmic art since the late 1960s. His collaboration with French computer music composer Pierre Barbaud inspired him to apply mathematical algorithms to create abstract geometric compositions. Mohr’s artistic process revolutionized the concept of art, shifting the role of the artist to a programmer, crafting visual works from code. His exploration of multidimensional cubes and algorithmic structures has opened new possibilities for digital art, inspiring future generations.
