Navigating holiday parties can be a unique challenge, especially if you've experienced scarcity trauma. 🎄✨ The abundance of festive gatherings often amplifies feelings of scarcity, stirring up memories of times when resources were limited. These emotions might manifest as anxiety, hesitancy to indulge, or difficulty in fully enjoying the festivities. It's essential to acknowledge these feelings and practice self-compassion during the holiday season. Remember, your worth is not determined by material abundance, and it's okay to prioritize your emotional well-being. 🌟💙 Take moments to breathe, connect with loved ones, and embrace the joyous spirit of the season. You're not alone in navigating the complexities of holiday gatherings, and your feelings are valid. 💖 #ScarcityTrauma #HolidayWellness #SelfCompassion #holidayparties

🎄 Only 9 weeks and 2 days until Christmas! SAY WHAT?!! 😲 Yes. Its a fact. One that’s making me feel slightly queasy... A survey I saw even suggested that 60% of us feel that Christmas is stressful… 👏So...I've decided that perhaps we should stroll into the festive season with a sprinkling of #selfkindness rather than crawling toward the finish line. Here are my top 3 tips to stay more balanced and joyful: 🙏 Schedule "Self Kindness" Time Block out time in your diary for yourself each week. Whether it's a walk, meditation, or reading, scheduling self kindness prevents #burnout and helps you stay energised. 🧡 Presence Over Presents Focus on being present with loved ones instead of overspending. We’re making Santa more environmentally friendly this year – less waste, more memories! 😋 Don’t Overschedule or Overindulge Avoid cramming your calendar and overindulging. You’ll feel healthier, more grounded, and ready to truly enjoy the season. Small changes can make the festivities even brighter (and happier!) It’s how I’m rolling in and I know it will help with the overwhelm😉 Kindest, Soph🌈☀️ #mentalhealth #kindness #positivepsychology #happiness #leadership #wellbeing #linkedinnewsaustralia

The holiday season is a beautiful time filled with joy and connection, but it can also bring stress and overwhelm. That’s why setting boundaries is crucial for preserving your peace of mind. Here are some practical phrases to help you assert your needs while still enjoying the festivities: “Thanks so much for inviting me! I’ve got a full schedule this season, so I’ll have to miss out this time.” “Let’s keep gifts simple this year—I’d love to focus more on spending time together than on presents.” “I’ll stop by for an hour or two but will need to head home early to unwind.” “I’m keeping some days just for myself to recharge, but let’s catch up soon!” “This year, I’d love it if everyone could help with cooking/cleaning. I’d really appreciate it!” “I’m staying in town this year to keep things low-key, but let’s plan a visit soon.” “I’m keeping my schedule pretty set for the rest of the month, so I won’t be able to add anything new right now.” “I’m not taking on any extra projects through the end of the year—let’s revisit in January.” “I’m going to take 30 minutes for myself and go for a walk to get some fresh air.” “I know we don’t see eye-to-eye on this topic so let’s change the subject.” By using these phrases, you can create a holiday experience that feels fulfilling, energizing and joyful rather than overwhelming and stressful.
