At the same time, I anticipate its heavy potential to achieve much more in this regard. We're seeing incredible progress already from electric vehicles to solar power, and wind energy to energy-conserving AI. On the one hand, recycling tech is transforming waste management, while vertical farming is revolutionizing agriculture. Carbon capture and storage technologies are reducing emissions, and eco-friendly infrastructure is becoming the new standard. In all, tech innovation is driving sustainability forward. I remember back in Y2K composites used to be THE advanced material of choice, but when the economies were booming, even overheating around 2008 and after the financial crisis hit the world hard, composites sort of lost their appeal for many years. When I decided in 2018 to take my online presence in control and be in the driver seat I decided to bring composites to the attention of the world. One channel is our Composites Lounge site and group here on LinkedIn, but also Youtube and Podcasts. LinkedIn with 1 Billion members is the world. It is THE place to drive innovation, technology and sustainabilty digitally. Today, I am happy that composites rules the materials world on LinkedIn. Composites are a serious material for lightweight technologies and are the number one driver of sustainability. No aircraft, no boat, no rocket, no Mars robot and no car would ever be able to fly/drive eco-friendly without composites. But we are not yet there, there are still too many applications that use heavy steel, like rolling stock (railway), the machine and construction industry. With our relentless work to promote in a collaborative manner this fascinating material concept, which has its roots in nature (look at wood, which is a composite) we influence engineering, design and components very hard. I get so much positive feedback for the work we do that fuels my desire to do even more with Composites Lounge and its collaborative partners. So, let's keep the world sustainable. With composites.
