With integrated energy systems, cooling is not just an option — but an essential part of maximizing the energy and cost efficiencies of your entire operation. Energy Machines™ integrated systems use heat pumps to move heat from one location to another. When heat is moved, cooling capacity is created — whether in residential spaces during summer, technical rooms requiring year-round cooling, or stored underground in a geothermal energy storage reservoir during winter. The result? 100% renewable, highly efficient temperature management through a single system, all year long. 🍃 Explore our cases to see how our integrated energy systems deliver renewable cooling and heating while significantly lowering energy use, operational CO2, and costs: https://lnkd.in/e8ryJT5z #thisisanenergymachine #passivecooling #geothermalenergystorage

🆕 RMI and National Grid report: utilities are planning for a future less reliant on gas and more dependent on clean energy. Integrated energy planning and non-pipeline alternatives offer promising solutions for utilities and regulators to achieve climate and clean energy goals equitably and cost-effectively. For this report, RMI and National Grid analyzed nine case studies in the U.S. and Europe to better understand how non-pipeline alternative projects have been most effectively implemented. From geothermal heating transitions in New York to gas decommissioning and home electrification efforts in California and Europe, these studies highlight strategies to consider and challenges to overcome. Collaboration among utilities, regulators, and communities will all be essential for a successful energy transition and a safe and reliable grid. 📗 Download the report here: https://lnkd.in/gMJ_gJBV 📃 Download the fact sheet here: https://lnkd.in/gcThZB67 Thank you to the authors of this research. When you think beyond isolated, stand-alone systems, a new world of opportunities opens up. This is especially true for building decarbonization. There's nothing wrong with the electrification of heating and cooling on a building-by-building basis. Sometimes it's the only feasible option. But by interconnecting buildings via a thermal energy network, a community can take advantage of several opportunities it may otherwise miss, such as: ⭐ The ability to capture and use "free" waste heat from sources like wastewater, ice rinks, and industrial processes ⭐ The integration of renewables like solar, wind, and geothermal energy with thermal energy storage and high-efficiency heat pumps ⭐ The ability to use advanced, centralized monitoring to optimize performance and detect issues before they become a larger problem ⭐ The flexibility and scalability to expand the network as needed while spreading costs over time using a utility model to keep rates affordable for end users It all adds up to greater resilience. 💪 For low-carbon, energy-efficient communities that minimize pressures on the electrical grid, thermal energy networks (aka district energy systems) are often the best solutions. The opportunities for utilizing waste heat, ground sources, and advanced heat pump technologies are too abundant to ignore. #decarbonization #ThermalEnergyNetworks #DistrictEnergy #RenewableEnergy #geothermal #HeatPumps
