NATALIE: Accelerating and mainstreaming Nature-Based Solutions..! As the urgency to address societal challenges grows, Nature-Based Solutions (NBS) are playing a pivotal role in enhancing climate resilience. However, emerging issues require closer attention to unlock the full potential of NBS. The NATALIE project is supporting EU regions in building climate resilience. By focusing on three critical areas - technological and scientific innovation, financial strategies, and societal engagement - NATALIE aims to deliver transformative and sustainable solutions for climate adaptation across Europe.

When the challenge is grand, such as minimizing the effects and impacts of climate change, the need of the hour is "action." Along with citizen engagement, high priorities must be set by research communities to focus on 1. Lab to Land 2. research paper to scalable products. 3. Industry-academia collaborations to understand the sustainability requirements and promote need-based research. #ClimateAction

Register for EDS’s climate adaptation webinar (midday, Tues 30 July). In this webinar, EDS’s Policy Director Raewyn Peart will present key findings and recommendations from the final report in Phase 1 of our climate adaptation project. The report titled “Design Recommendations for a Climate Adaptation Act” builds on previous working papers to suggest a workable framework for effective climate adaptation in Aotearoa NZ. It addresses the important issues of funding, property rights, managed relocation and fairness and draws on national and international case studies. This is a rapidly evolving policy area. A framework for climate adaptation is currently being considered by select committee and government is progressing policy and legislation on a cross-party basis. If legislation is progressed, there is likely to be further opportunities for public submissions.
