My recent posts (very rare ones, my bad) are in the ESG universe, and below is the reason why. With a portfolio of 450+ startups majority of which are pre-seed/seed stage, I feel like they are at times facing some unnecessary pressure from regulators and some VCs being pushed towards their impact assessments, protocols, policies, CO2 footprint scoping, you name it. The truth is that there are two major things that we can do for them to face this ESG reality: 1) lead by example, and 2) teach them (that's what accelerators do, isn't it?) and build awareness, nourish culture, and prepare them for the future rounds investors and regulators, who will at some point expect accountability from them. In the report, you’ll find various aspects of ESG and insights into how our startups perceive the risks. Overall, it appears that social aspects are the most viable for early-stage startups and cyber security is among the major issues. I stand with them in this opinion, but please convince me otherwise, if you have your take on it. I hope this piece resonates with those navigating the ESG landscape.
