Hey Network 👋🏾 Every once in a while, I like to push myself out of my comfort zone for a great cause, and this time, it’s personal. Cancer has affected the lives of so many friends and family around me, and now it’s time to step up. In January, I’ll be competing in a Hyrox event, representing the amazing Macmillan charity. I’m teaming up with my partner-in-crime Carla Brault and together we’re going all out in the mixed pairs event to support those battling cancer. 🏅 For those who haven’t heard of Hyrox, here’s what we’ll be up against: 🏃🏾1km Run + 1000m Ski Erg 🏃🏾 1km Run + Sled Push (152kg) 🏃🏾1km Run + Sled Pull (103kg) 🏃🏾1km Run + 80m Burpee Broad Jumps 🏃🏾1km Run + 1000m Row 🏃🏾 1km Run + Farmers Carry (24kg) 🏃🏾1km Run + Sandbag Lunges (20kg) 🏃🏾1km Run + 6kg Wall Balls (75 reps) The running is a joint effort, whilst the exercises can be shared depending on individual strengths. Our goal? To finish the event in under 1 hour and 10 minutes, which would qualify us for the elite event! We’re training hard and aiming high, but confident we can achieve a qualifying time. We’re raising £800 as a team for Macmillan. If you’d like to make a difference and cheer us on, please donate here: https://lnkd.in/ePyNGqeu 💚 Every contribution helps, regardless the size🚀 #Hyrox #Macmillan #CancerCharity #Fundraising #HyroxJourney #EliteGoals

💛 Together, We Can Make a Difference 💛 One thing we all have in common is knowing someone affected by cancer. It's a disease that touches us all, in one way or another. That's why being a member of ABOA means so much more than just social gatherings. Every event, every initiative, and every effort we put in is with one goal in mind: raising money for cancer research. I’ve seen firsthand where your donations go — directly toward cutting-edge research that is changing the way cancer is prevented, detected, and treated. Every contribution, big or small, makes an impact. If you're moved to donate, I would be truly grateful. 🙏 But even if you simply like or share this post, it helps spread the word and may inspire others to give. Together, we can make a difference. 🔗 https://lnkd.in/gXwmfHYh #ABOAFightsCancer #CancerResearch #TogetherWeCan #EndCancer #MakeADifference #Donate #SpreadTheWord

The work that charities do is priceless; an amazing shoulder of support for those that need it. Equally the work that people do voluntarily to create the opportunities to fundraise is just as is important and I’m so very proud of what my Father-in-Law has and continues to achieve. Never underestimate the value of either your financial contribution or your non-financial support to any charity. They need you and one day you may just need them. #payitforward
Probably one of the lesser used corporate benefits - charity fund matching. Such an important part for any business who can, to take responsibility and give back to the communities who support us. Something I’ve taken advantage of at HSBC every year for the last 22! I’m so incredibly proud of my dad, who, after losing two of his friends to their individual battles with cancer, decided to do something about it. Since 2003, we have walked every year (except 2020) in their memory, and he’s raised £211k over that time for various cancer charities, the main ones being Marie Curie, The Oesophageal Patients Association, Macmillan Cancer Support and Cancer Research UK. Before he retired from his business, there were numerous business associates in his network who also supported with generous donations and by taking part. Some still do to this day despite his retirement 8 years ago. It must be hard for charities in times of economic hardship, which is why corporate support becomes so much more important. Importantly, for anyone who would like to donate (please do if you can!) here is the just giving link: https://lnkd.in/evtbCjhf For anyone who is interested, here is my Dad’s website, which is now maintained by my sister who had to learn how to do this from scratch after our much beloved friend and techy support passed away a few years ago. https://lnkd.in/ea3z6twU Thank you for reading. And, if you fancy joining us next year for a lovely jaunt around the Chatsworth country side with a welcoming Yorkshire bunch, the website will be updated with next years details soon! Work colleagues - beware - I’ll be hounding you next week!

Advanced Warning ⚠️ I thought it only fair because it's that time again to do some good stuff. Yup, I am back on my tractor to raise awareness of how easy and simple it is to be part of potentially saving lives by raising funds for Breast Cancer Research. Last year I set my target for I think £250 and smashed it with the help of friends, family (some who won't be here this year to cheer me on ❤️) and businesses, raising over £800. This year I'm setting my target at £1000, it's big and there's a risk I won't make it but it equates to potentially saving 1000 lives. I do need your help though to make it happen. £1 will buy 1 microscope slide = 1 life Will you help please? #charity #businesslife #businessleadership https://lnkd.in/ex65Zc5K For more information about the Pink Ladies' Tractor Road Run please visit https://lnkd.in/esKW7V3V https://lnkd.in/ex65Zc5K

Hello! I'm raising money for Macmillan Cancer Support this June and July by challenging myself to swim 21 miles (the length of The Channel) to raise £200 for Macmillan Cancer Support. 🏊♀️ Link to fundraiser page below 👇 Why am I doing it? Like so many of us, I know people who have benefited from the amazing practical support Macmillan Cancer provides to people living with cancer. They are incredible!! Macmillan give people with cancer everything they've got. If you're diagnosed, your worries are their worries. They do whatever it takes. But without your help they can't support everyone who needs them. Not only do they help those living with cancer, their families and the cancer workforce, they also raise funds, research cancer care, run public campaigns and influence policy decision-makers. 💚 But the challenge in the UK continues to grow. It's estimated that on average, someone is diagnosed with cancer at least every 90 seconds, so there are more than 3 million people living with cancer, and this is expected to rise to 3.5 million in 2025 and 4 million by 2030. 📈 We're facing huge challenges as the number of people living with cancer is growing, the system can’t keep up, expertise is being lost within the cancer workforce and there are inequalities in the way cancer is treated and diagnosed in the UK. Alongside this, there are changes and opportunities that could be potentially transformative for people with cancer with new technologies, treatments, richer data and information available. Macmillan is working to respond to this environment and make sure they're doing the best they can for people with cancer now and into the future. I'd be so grateful for your support to help reach my goal. Anything you can donate really will help make a difference and keep me motivated! Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and secure. Your details are safe because they'll never sell them or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs. #macmillancancersupport #swimit2024 #fundraising

Coaching to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support I’m putting aside at least 5 coaching slots each month for the next 6 months to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support I’d really appreciate your support through: 💡 Donating in return for a coaching session from me – you will be surprised at how much you can get out of a one-off coaching session! 🎁 Donating as a gift – perhaps a friend, colleague or family member would benefit from a coaching session 💚 Donating to support the coaching efforts to raise money for Macmillan 🌟 Sharing this with others who may be interested Who this might appeal to: 💭 Perhaps you’ve been considering whether coaching is for you – this is a great chance to try it out while also supporting a wonderful charity ⚡ Perhaps you’ve had coaching before and would like a one-off session because there is something specific you would like to focus on ❓ Perhaps you don’t know much about coaching but would like to give it a try 🌳 Perhaps you or someone you know wouldn’t ordinarily have access to coaching; I’m asking for a minimum donation of just £20 💚 Perhaps coaching isn’t for you at the moment but you’d still like to support the coaching efforts through a donation Thank you for your support for a wonderful charity! https://lnkd.in/eNmZ3qR2

Over the last four years, I've donated my hair twice to support cancer patients. Each time, I’ve been reminded of the power of small actions in making a significant impact. Why I Do It: Restoring Confidence:A wig can truly help someone feel like themselves again during a challenging time. Building Community:It’s about connecting with those who are fighting cancer and showing them they are not alone. If you’re considering donating, I encourage you to take the plunge! Your hair could bring hope and joy to someone in need. Let’s spread awareness and inspire others to join this meaningful cause. Together, we can make a difference—one haircut at a time. #HairDonation #CancerSupport #CommunityImpact #MakeADifference
