Strategic & Technical Leader / Consultant; Operations Officer, KPI Eng - No matter the Scope, KPI has YOU Covered!
Right smack in the middle of Engineer's Week!!! Please go out and hug an Engineer - by the way, I am one 😁 Seriously - it is time to recognize such a vital role for our nation and the world. I sometimes present on engineering opportunities to schools. The title of the presentation is "engineering everything". By the time we are done postulating some basic challenges and talking through them, we cover every type of engineering and more. If you know a young person who loves math, science and the arts, make sure to mention engineering to them as a possibility. Engineering offers a rewarding experience from developing great problem solving and critical thinking skills while in school to solving significant challenges at work to leading and developing others, selling / marketing, and many other possibilities for a rewarding career. Blessed to be leading a very talented group of engineers and design professionals at KPI Engineering, Inc. and serving our local and national communities with a wide range of projects - Community Centers, Schools, Entertainment, Hospitality, Housing, Workplaces, etc. I found this interesting piece about the week and engineering in general from a few years back, enjoy! - #engineering #design #plumbing #mechanical #electrical #MEP #schools #retail #commercialrealestate #industrial #distribution #warehouse #coldstorage #selfstorage #architecture #architects #community #restaurants #sportscomplex #sparksandrecreation #parks

How can engineers co-create solutions WITH society, rather than engineering FOR imagined users? That is the question Scientific Assistant Corinna V. has asked regarding how we can practically bring co-creation into engineering education. In The Roadmap for Co-creation Teaching for Socially Responsible Engineering Education, she presents a guiding resource on how to “do” responsibility in the classrooms, making the connection between mission and practical implementation clearer. The tool shows seven steps to making implementing social responsibility through co-creation with society more feasible in teaching. External pressure has grown, therefore asking universities to produce societally responsible solutions through contact with external partners can help to maintain legitimacy. This document was developed through collaboration within the EuroTeQ Engineering University, with the EuroTeQ alliance goal being “to be more socially responsible and contribute to sustainable development”. Data from teachers, students, teaching units, managers, and stakeholders across the EuroTeQ universities were collected to learn about challenges and opportunities for better co-creation practices with relevant stakeholders. Day 11 of NTDC Intenship: Today's learnings were packed with valuable insights! We explored three crucial concepts in electrical engineering: 1. _Frontier Effect_: This phenomenon occurs when a system's efficiency and performance significantly improve when operating at the boundary of its capability or in innovative areas. By pushing technological limits, engineers can achieve breakthroughs, higher efficiencies, and better performance, driving technological advancements. 2. _Shunt Reactors_: These devices absorb reactive power to maintain voltage stability and regulate voltage levels in high-voltage power transmission systems. By compensating for reactive power, shunt reactors prevent over-voltage conditions during low-load periods, enhancing efficiency and reliability. They are essential for long-distance power transmission and systems with varying loads. 3. _Grid Fundamentals_: We delved into the intricacies of grid operations, gaining a deeper understanding of its complexities and dynamics. 4._Single Line Diagram Design_: We also practiced designing single line diagrams, a crucial skill for electrical engineers. This hands-on experience helped solidify our understanding of grid systems and prepared us for real-world applications. I'll be sharing my daily lecture notes throughout my internship, hoping to provide valuable insights for fellow electrical (power) engineering students. Feel free to ask questions or reach out if you'd like more information on these topics or future notes. #NTDCInternship #ElectricalEngineering #PowerEngineering #GridOperations #Learning"
