Fire doors are your building's unsung heroes, containing fires and buying precious time for escape and firefighting. 🚒 Key Points: 🚪 Identify Your Fire Doors: Look for blue signs, door closers, and special seals. 🏠 Know Your Locations: External doors in flats and some internal doors can be fire doors. ⏱️ Fire Door Ratings: Understand ratings like FD30 and FD60. 🛠️ Regular Maintenance: Inspect, maintain, and replace damaged parts. Remember: Fire doors only work when closed and in good condition. 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗴𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝗶𝘁, 𝗥𝗲𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝗶𝘁 "Research conducted in 2023 by the British Woodworking Federation as part of their Fire Door Safety Week campaign ‘Recognise it, Report it’, found that over half (57%) of the UK public couldn’t spot a problem with a fire door, leading to a failure to report issues. The survey of 2,000 UK adults found that while awareness over factors that might prevent a fire door performing properly in the event of a fire is high, the majority of people couldn’t identify a faulty fire door.
