🎄 Celebrating Inclusivity and Christmas Cheer at Laniteio Lyceum 🎄
On December 5th, Andrey & Julia Dashin's Foundation proudly sponsored the Christmas Bazaar at Laniteio Lyceum. This annual event is more than just a celebration of the festive season—it’s a heartfelt demonstration of inclusion and community spirit.
Students, including those from the special unit, created and sold beautiful crafts and delicious treats, with all proceeds supporting school families facing difficult times. The day was filled with joy, featuring workshops, a lively DJ, and an entertaining bubble show that lit up every corner with happiness and joy.
As a Foundation committed to education and inclusion, we feel honoured to support the special unit throughout the year. Our gratitude extends to everyone who contributed to this event's resounding success.

🤩 🧚♂️ What an incredible experience! The Family Festival video has arrived, and we couldn’t be more thrilled with how the week turned out. From fun-filled activities to unforgettable moments, this event brought together families, friends, and communities in ways we’ll cherish for a long time. 🌟
Our Family Festival, held during October Half Term 2024, brought the joy of storytelling, reading, and creativity to families across the county with events hosted in Dursley, Oakley, Hesters Way, Matson, and Cinderford!
Over the course of the week, approximately 600 attendees enjoyed a vibrant mix of activities themed around Fairytales and Fantasy, including The Enchanted Cinema, storytelling sessions, outdoor learning, science experiments, arts and crafts, LEGO building, sensory play, face painting, and more.
The festival aimed to bring the wonders of books, reading and imagination to all children, with a particular focus on reaching underrepresented and isolated communities. By hosting events in accessible non-library venues such as community centres, family hubs, and schools, the festival connected with families who might not typically visit a library - resulting in signing families up as library members.
Key outcomes demonstrating the festival’s ability to reach beyond its core library audience:
-Around 45% of attendees were families considered ‘Non-Regular Library Users'.
-Nearly 30% of attending families had at least one Non-Library Member in their party.
Additionally, the festival served as a platform for creative consultation, with families providing valuable feedback about their interests; this input will guide future programming to ensure services remain relevant, impactful, and community-focused.
By blending creativity with literacy and offering free, inclusive opportunities, the Gloucestershire Family Festival was a success in bringing communities together and inspiring a love for learning and imagination. Planning for the second year of the Festival is now underway.

Today, on #WorldBrailleDay, we are all reminded of the transformative power of accessibility. Braille is more than just a script – it’s a gateway to independence, education, and equal opportunities for millions of visually impaired individuals worldwide.
At Bhumi, we’ve taken small but meaningful steps toward bridging the accessibility gap. In 2024, our corporate volunteering team:
👥 Engaged 2,000 volunteers
⏱️ Contributed 4,000+ hours
🧩 Created 1,034 Braille assets, including tactile toys and learning materials.
These efforts are not just about numbers; they’re about creating a future where every child, regardless of ability, has the tools they need to learn, thrive, and dream big. Access to education through resources like Braille materials isn’t just a necessity – it’s a right.
There’s still so much more to do, but every step forward counts. Together, we can build a world where inclusivity and accessibility are the norms, not exceptions.
Let’s keep working toward that brighter, more equitable tomorrow. 🌍✨

Organizing the first #SMAll#Wheelathon in Malaysia in 2017 to raise awareness for #SMA and disabilities on New Year’s Eve was a real eye-opener about #community, #authenticity, and #collaboration.
#wecarejourney#smacare
The event wasn’t about putting on a show; it was about genuinely fostering #inclusivity and understanding. Hosting hundreds of families with #disabilities showed us how crucial it is to create spaces where everyone feels valued. The joy and connection during the event proved that true community comes from #empathy and #meaningful engagement.
We quickly learned that #authenticity was key. Staying true to our mission of raising #awareness and #advocating for real #change mattered way more than any superficial displays. Authenticity builds #trust and leaves a lasting impact, creating a legacy of support that goes beyond just one event.
Pulling together diverse groups and individuals and the public meant having a #unifiedvision. #Sharedvalues and a common purpose were essential for effective teamwork. #Collaboration worked because everyone, from #volunteers to #sponsors, was on the same page about promoting #diversity and #inclusion. This collective commitment made the event a success and showed how unity can overcome challenges and create significant #societalimpact.
These #lessons taught us that impactful events are all about genuine connections, staying true to your cause, and working together with a shared commitment. And it set us up to grow even bigger in 2018 (more on that later!).

World Braille Day 2025: Celebrating Accessibility and Inclusion
Today, on World Braille Day, we celebrate the transformative power of Braille in creating a world where accessibility, inclusion, and empowerment are within reach for the visually impaired. Braille is more than a tool—it’s a gateway to knowledge, independence, and opportunity.
At Lal Industries, we are committed to fostering a world where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. This day serves as a powerful reminder of the importance of inclusivity and breaking barriers that limit access to information. Let’s ensure that accessibility remains a cornerstone of innovation and development.
Let’s take this opportunity to raise awareness, celebrate progress, and reaffirm our dedication to building a future that champions diversity and accessibility for all. Together, we can break barriers and shape a brighter, more inclusive future.

Today, as we commemorate World Braille Day, I am revisiting a poem I wrote two years ago. This day holds a special significance as it honors the birth of Louis Braille, the visionary who created a system that empowers millions of visually impaired individuals around the globe.
In our fast-paced world, it is crucial to remember that providing Braille is not just about accessibility; it is about ensuring that no one is left behind. By integrating Braille into our daily lives, we can help break down barriers and open doors for those who are blind or visually impaired. It allows them to engage fully with the society, pursue their dreams, and realise their potential without limitations.
Let this day serve as a reminder to all of us who care: promoting inclusivity is not merely a choice; it is a responsibility. Together, we can create a world where everyone has the opportunity to thrive.Join me in advocating for accessibility and inclusion!

Unlocking Our Collective Greatness: Celebrating Nia
On the fifth day of Kwanzaa, we honor the profound principle of Nia - Purpose. Today, we pause to reflect on our individual and collective roles in building a vibrant, thriving community.
Nia reminds us that our purpose is not just about personal fulfillment, but about contributing to the greater good. It's about recognizing that our individual strengths, talents, and passions are threads in the rich tapestry of our shared culture and legacy.
As we celebrate Nia, let's ask ourselves:
What is my purpose, and how does it align with the well-being of my community?
How can I use my gifts and talents to uplift and empower those around me?
What can I do to ensure that our collective purpose is one of love, justice, and equality?
Today, let's recommit to living a life of purpose, integrity, and service. Let's strive to create a world where every individual can thrive, grow, and fulfill their highest potential.

HAPPY FIRST DAY OF KWANZAA❤️🖤💚
Here is information about this essential African heritage holiday, which started in the US!! 🇺🇸
Teaching Kwanzaa for Kids
Aside from organizing a traditional Kwanzaa celebration and letting children participate, there are a few other things you can do to teach kids about Kwanzaa and its significance. Some of these activities include reading and discussing children’s books on the topic, consolidating essential information through interactive worksheets or other material, watching movies, or planning a field trip to history museums (during the COVID-19 situation, virtual trips might be more appropriate).
Reading Material
One of the easiest ways to teach kids about the history and traditions of Kwanzaa is through specially designed children’s books. In an effortless way and with many illustrations, these books explain the core aspects of the holiday and make it easy for kids to grasp the basic ideas.
Some great children’s books about Kwanzaa for kids are:
* K Is For Kwanzaa by Juwanda Ford and Ken Wilson-max (ideally for children between 4-8 years old).
* My First Kwanzaa (My First Holiday) by Karen Katz (ideally for children between 2-5 years old).
* Together for Kwanzaa (Pictureback(R) by Juwanda G. Ford and Shelly Hehenberger (ideally for children between 3-7 years old).
* My Family Celebrates Kwanzaa by Lisa Bullard and Constanza Basaluzzo (ideally for children between 5-8 years old).
* Seven Days Of Kwanzaa by Angela Shelf Medearis (ideally for children 8-12 years old).
Interactive Worksheets and Lesson Plans
Another great way to introduce this holiday to children is through our interactive worksheets that can help consolidate the facts you’ve presented. Worksheets help children make connections between different terms and meanings, as well as associate the terminology with Kwanzaa symbols.
On our website, you’ll find a 27-page Kwanzaa worksheet pack that you can utilize within the classroom or home environment. The worksheet pack includes vital information needed for creating a solid lesson plan, as well as worksheets on Kwanzaa’s seven principles, symbols, and celebrations, including famous African Americans and even poem writing.
