🎄 Spreading Holiday Joy in Limassol 🎄
On December 15th, the Andrey & Julia Dashin's Foundation hosted a festive event in Limassol, celebrating with children and families who have benefited from our therapy sponsorship program throughout the year.
The celebration included a magic show, fun activities, and a heartwarming visit from Santa Claus— Andrey Dashin, stepping into the role with warmth and charm, handing out wishful gifts and creating unforgettable memories for everyone.
We are overjoyed to support these incredible children and their families and remain committed to fostering their growth and joy throughout the year.
What better way to say thanks than to give of your time for those that need a helping hand. Registration link is below for the few slots that remain, so sign up today!

Hi everyone
Do you want to support PTTR Ltd?
Did you know that we receive no government funding - either federal or state?
Philanthropic grants and donations are our primary means of support. :)
So here are 3 ways you can help make sure we can keep on supporting over 100 PTTR communities across Australia!
1) Make a personal donation through our Justgiving page. They will provide you with a tax receipt, or follow the link on our website. www.paintthetownread.info
2) If your organisation would like to make a donation, contact me at bb@paintthetownread.info, and I can issue you an invoice and/or tax receipt.
3) Buy a ticket/s in the 2024 People First Community Lottery with the total value of your lottery ticket/s coming to Paint the Town Read!
We just need to sell the tickets. Tickets are only $2 each and you go into the draw for a chance to win one of 52 prizes worth over $300,000.
The lottery is funded and run by People’ First. They invited us to join the Lottery.
It would be great if everyone could help us raise money this year, by buying tickets and/ or spreading the word amongst family & friends.
How to buy tickets? Head to https://lnkd.in/gsbK9BHr, find Paint the Town Read and click buy tickets.
Unfortunately, it doesn’t include WA…probably because WA already has the terrific LotteryWest, which has funded PTTR events in the past in WA. So WA folk, ignore this request, and focus instead on the other 3 ideas above. :)
To slightly change one of our PTTR rhymes:
Giving is fun - from Day 1
Did you hear what I said?
Paint the Town REaD!

More about Dallas Pets Alive:
Your support during North Texas Giving Day is not just a donation; it's a lifeline. Every gift you make goes directly to programs that are transforming the lives of animals and their humans. Our Foster and Adoption program is a beacon of hope for the most at-risk animals in our partner shelters, while our preventative programs—like PASS, Dogs Matter, and Bark Dorm—work tirelessly to keep pets out of shelters and in loving homes. These initiatives are not just about rescue; they're about building healthier, stronger communities where animals and people thrive together.
The need is urgent. Many of the pets that come into our care have medical conditions so severe that shelters simply can't provide the care they need. Over a third of the animals we help are Major Medical Cases, requiring $1,000 or more in medical expenses. In 2023 alone, we spent more than $400,000 on treatments ranging from basic vaccinations to heartworm treatment and life-saving surgeries.
This year, as we've taken on the incredible work of Dogs Matter and face the overwhelming overcrowding in North Texas shelters, the number of animals in our care has more than doubled. For the first time, we have more than 500 animals relying on our programs. While we've made strides in fundraising, the financial demands have outpaced our resources.
Every year, amazing supporters like you come together for Dallas Pets Alive on North Texas Giving Day. Your contributions are indispensable; they fuel our ability rescue animals and transform lives. We need your support now more than ever!
This is our Excutive Director, Leslie Sans with one of our adoptable dogs, Sparkles, to remind you that you have the power to save lives. There is no donation too small — every little bit makes a world of difference to a pet in need.

For those in my network in the Charity sector...Volunteero is a really effective volunteer management system and here is a case study from RSPCA explaining why

Working with our community is truly extraordinary. It’s not just about providing a service; it’s about creating meaningful connections, fostering trust, and making a genuine, lasting impact in the lives of those we serve. Each interaction is a step towards empowerment, every initiative a testament to our shared humanity.
Making a real difference means more than addressing immediate needs—it’s about sowing seeds of hope, resilience, and transformation that ripple through families, neighborhoods, and generations. When we invest in people, we invest in the future.
In a world often driven by profit, prioritising people is a revolutionary act. It’s what the world desperately needs more of—compassion over competition, care over commerce, and communities that thrive because their foundation is built on empathy and solidarity. Together, we can be the change we wish to see.

As a member of the Ram Athletic Fund Board I have made my donation for #VCUGivingDay to support the Student-Athlete Philanthropic Fund. I ask you to consider doing the same. No gift is too small
I know many of my connections here started at VCU. Many of you were former athletes. Please consider using the link below to give.
Help us meet our $18,000 dollar for dollar match that directly supports our 339 student-athletes. Please consider making a gift today that directly supports the Student-Athlete Philanthropic Fund.
When you give to the Student-Athlete Philanthropic Fund, you provide the support our student-athletes need to achieve excellence. You provide scholarship money for bright and talented students who otherwise might not be able to attend VCU. You cover the costs associated with school for students whose busy schedules don't allow for outside employment. You make resources that support student-athletes' well-being possible. You show our athletes you believe in them.
Below are just some of the costs per student-athlete this academic year.
Medical and Mental Health Support: $2,555
Academic Support: $2,238
Books and Supplies: $1,240
Give the number of student-athletes (339 SA): $339

As a parent, you always hope to see your children grow into individuals who make a positive difference. Seeing Arden recognized as Volunteer of the Year by the San Diego Business Journal Nonprofit & Corporate Citizenship Awards is, of course, a proud moment. But what’s even more fulfilling is watching the impact of his nonprofit, Sports4Kids-CA, unfold. For two years, he’s worked tirelessly to bring sports opportunities to kids who might not otherwise have access. 🏀⚽
Just yesterday, I stopped by one of his sessions at a local elementary school. Watching 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders—whom don’t have regular PE classes in their schools—get their only physical activity for the week was both heartwarming and eye-opening. It’s easy to overlook how something as simple as a weekly soccer or basketball session can make a difference, but the science backs it up. 📊
According to a study published (https://lnkd.in/g2FymJ3H ) in PLOS ONE (with over 11,000 children aged 9-13), participation in team sports leads to:
🔵 10% lower anxiety and depression scores
🔵 19% lower withdrawal and depression scores
🔵 17% lower social problems
🔵 12% fewer attention problems
🔵 20% fewer instances of rule-breaking behavior
In a world where mental health challenges are rising at an alarming rate, especially among youth, providing access to sports may seem like a small thing. But over time, these small, consistent efforts can change lives—physically, mentally, and emotionally. 🌱
What might start as just a game can evolve into something much more: a foundation for resilience, confidence, and long-term well-being.
When you consider the percentages from the study—those 10%, 20% reductions in mental health challenges—applied across schools, communities, and generations, the potential impact is enormous. These small actions, when repeated over time, can accumulate and create lifelong benefits for children and, ultimately, healthier, stronger communities. 💪
Thank you to everyone who has supported Arden—and to all who work tirelessly to make a difference in young lives. 🙏

I’m thrilled to share that I’ve been recognized as the Volunteer of the Year by the San Diego Business Journal Nonprofit & Corporate Citizenship Awards. Volunteering has always been a passion of mine, and it’s been incredibly rewarding to give back to our community through initiatives that support and uplift others.
A big thank you to everyone who’s supported me along the way, especially the incredible teams and organizations I’ve had the privilege to work with. This award isn’t just a personal achievement—it’s a reflection of the collective effort and dedication of everyone involved.
Special thanks to Drew Moser, Greg Anglea, Serhat Pala, and Zeynep Ilgaz.
Excited to keep making a positive impact!
