🚀 Excited to Share My Latest Project: A Smart Cooler! 🌬️ I recently developed a smart cooler using Node MCU 8266 and a React Native app, and I wanted to share some key features and challenges I encountered along the way. 🔧 Key Features: Device Discovery: No more manual IP entry! The app automatically discovers the cooler on the network. Dynamic IP Management: The cooler updates its IP address automatically if changed by WiFi DHCP mode. State Persistence: The cooler remembers its previous state even after a power outage. Real-Time State Fetching: The app fetches the cooler's state every time it's opened. Future Enhancements: Planning to add push buttons for direct control via the app, overriding WiFi configuration. 🌟 Challenges & Solutions: Integration: Establishing communication between NodeMCU 8266 and React Native was tough, but using the HTTP protocol made it reliable and efficient. Device Discovery: Implementing mDNS (Multicast DNS) allowed seamless device discovery without manual IP entry. State Persistence: Storing the cooler’s state in non-volatile memory ensured it remembers settings after power outages. 🎤 Future Plans: Adding voice control features to convert every home into a smart home with reliability and ease of use. Adding timer to schedule the device states. Enhancing the look and feel of the cooler with a 3D printed box. This project has fueled my passion for IoT and smart home technologies. From the Life of an AI Software House: Streetlight Management from a Smartphone - Built from Ground Up in 6 Weeks. Have you ever imagined that street lighting could be managed straight from a smartphone screen, for example, by the Mayor of a city? Some time ago, for our client from the manufacturing industry, we created from scratch a product that was a breakthrough in the intelligent management of urban infrastructure. We have developed a comprehensive system that allows not only remote switching on and off of lights but also their dimming and brightening, depending on the needs. Additionally, the lamp can send the information "I have a failure" along with its number assigned to a specific location. Thanks to a dedicated mobile application, our client's street lighting has become exceptionally flexible. Working on the project was inspiring - we developed the power supply (PCB-printed circuit board) and communication module ourselves, which allows the lamps on the poles to communicate with the server. It is the server that has the application installed, which is the heart of the entire system. Creating a solution from scratch took us 6 weeks.
