We released a scatter plot on November 23, showcasing Premier League teams that excel in progressing the ball into the opponent's critical scoring areas (Zone 14 and the Penalty Area) via rapid and coordinated play. A discernible correlation emerges between the top-ranked teams, characterized by their frequent and precise passes in these key zones, and the lower-ranked teams, which struggle with effective control in these areas. Should we update this visualization with data from the season's 2nd half, it's likely we'll observe the same teams retaining their positions in the standings, underpinned by their consistent strategic approach.
