Great to see this open source solution for data federation getting more traction! Definitely a solution and a community to assess.
𝗪𝗵𝗼 𝘂𝘀𝗲𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗦𝗛𝗜𝗘𝗟𝗗? This summer undergraduate Kathryn Ward joined the DataSHIELD research project, University of Liverpool as a research intern. During her internship she curated a database of peer reviewed publications relating to the development and application of DataSHIELD, annotating this with consortia and study/data node tags. These data were put through our PUMA pipeline (https://lnkd.in/gDkMj5Wd) outputting metrics including lists of papers by year, citation indices, citation counts, collated Altmetric info, word clouds and maps. Users can also search for publications by year, keyword, MeSH heading or free text. Katie’s curated data has identified 𝟰𝟭 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘀𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗮 𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗦𝗛𝗜𝗘𝗟𝗗 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗹𝗺𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝟮𝟬𝟬 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝘀𝗲𝘁𝘀 / 𝗗𝗮𝘁𝗮𝗦𝗛𝗜𝗘𝗟𝗗 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗻𝗼𝗱𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝗳𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀! A list can be found on the Tags page (https://lnkd.in/g4835knQ) - when you click on a tag all DataSHIELD publications for that tag will be presented. Katie also built some interactive graphics (https://lnkd.in/g7dPSNGq) including a DataSHIELD data node map and a visualisation of study-publications relationships. Our next steps will be to maintain the enriched DataSHIELD publications database and integrate the automated output of interactive graphics into the PUMA pipeline. Further details can be found in Katie’s poster presented at this year’s DatasHIELD conference (https://lnkd.in/gbWq-izD). Please continue to tag "@DataSHIELD" in your LinkedIn posts about new publication, or report new publications to us at datashield@liverpool.ac.uk to be included in the database.
