It was a refreshing insight on the impact of the next IT revolution will have on data centre infrastructure. My key takeaways were: * We are only at the start of this revolution and the challenges ahead are impacting all aspects of the data centre infrastructure; * Even at these early stages AI is already proving its value to companies implementing it and has positive impact on their profit; * The infrastructure is becoming more dense due to capacity and technology restraints, such as space, power, cooling and network; * There is an increased operational risk as a brownout impact becomes more substantial due to the volume of capacity needed, this includes network backhaul; * Low latency for AI application will drive the need to bring the compute closer to the end user, thus edge data centres and low loss connectivity; * A drive for holistic partnerships, collaboration and standards is needed to address the risks, challenges and sustainability in an effective way. Thanks to the CBRE team and panel for their insights. #sustainabledatacenters #datacenters #datacenterconnectivity
Join a CBRE Data Center Solutions discussion on how Nvidia’s technology is changing the way data centers are built and operated across the globe. Topics include the newly released Nvidia chips, the shift from air cooling to liquid cooling, and how the data center colocation industry needs to prepare for the Nvidia fueled GPU wave that is already upon us.
