The SEO in me views this as an improved ability to challenge Google and serve Bing of course, but at an Enterprise level this will also give companies the ability to anchor off citations and use the links to validate the accuracy of responses (on top of the obvious usefulness). https://lnkd.in/gaR3HhSd

Looks like Google wants to keep all the visitors and not send them over to other ‘pages’. Will utilize AI to provide all the content you are searching for, available right there on google. This is despite the fact that over the past 25 years all the websites and content available on the internet has pivoted to ‘google friendly’ wording to come at the top of search results (unless they ‘sponsor’ the results) often with the help of SEO optimizers creating a whole industry. “When you take all that content and slap it on the search page, people don’t click through” Some searches still just give you a normal list of links, but when the results are right there at the top, there is often no point in ever leaving Google.

As AI-driven search technology advances, its adoption by Google in Europe remains limited due to regulatory constraints. What Does the Future of Search Look Like? SISTRIX analyzed its development in the US and UK in a recent article, and the trends are clear: 1. AI Overviews are aligning closely with top search results, favoring authoritative and diverse content. 2. Good news for SEO: AI-enriched SERPs are generating more clicks to publishers than the current ones. Read more at: https://lnkd.in/dFWE9sJf

OpenAI just released SearchGPT (yep, I know you’ve heard by now). I’ve tested it for marketers, and there’s good news and bad news. Bad news first: SearchGPT, like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Claude, is pushing us further away from Google Search. Translation? Search engines as we know them are changing fast. But here’s the good news: It doesn’t rely on just Google’s first page of results. For marketers, this is huge. What this means for you: ↳ No more chasing page 1 ranking (finally, small firms and new websites stand a chance). ↳ Less spending on Google Ads. ↳ Real value matters—no more mindlessly researching keywords. The winners here? Those who go deep and wide in their content while staying aware of client awareness stages. (We as the readers are the winners) The real question: Is SEO or building websites still worth it?

Why is Google still not replacing 10 links with full AI-overview pages? Because we, as humans and organizations, are biased; we give favors, we like some people and dislike others. As humans, we don't just want information; we want to know who's saying it. Ask yourself, does Google really need to show all these news websites on the SERP? They have already built Google News fantastically to fetch news from around the world. The answer is: News comes from sources, so Google has to show it just to be ethically on the right side. But do they really need it? NO. As SEOs, do we need to worry about this at all? Maybe yes, maybe not. #SEO #Marketing #ContentCreation #Google #AI

OpenAI's new search engine - SearchGPT, is set to challenge Google’s dominance❗ SearchGPT is set to capture the market, by offering an ad-free and user-focused experience. It aims to provide users with a cleaner and potentially less noisy search environment. Collaborations with major publishers such as News Corp, Associated Press, and others promise a steady stream of fresh content, which is essential for effective search results. It is an interesting time for SEO, as SearchGPT is integrated with ChatGPT—this could likely affect traffic and rankings, and potentially even change the SEO landscape! Google wants to eliminate AI-generated spam pages in search results. Have you ever searched for something on Google and found yourself scrolling through multiple results to find what you're looking for? That's because many companies have manipulated Google's search engine algorithm to push their pages to the top of the results — even when they're spam. The problem has been compounded by AI, which lets bad actors to generate thousands of pages of spam or low-quality content with just a few clicks. Google is finally taking action. The company said it will be downranking pages that mass-produce low-quality content using AI and other methods, as well as websites that deploy other sketchy tactics to rank their content on search results. Google is giving site owners until May 5 to make the necessary changes. Let's all look forward to a cleaner and more valuable search experience with Google's new efforts to combat AI-generated spam. #Google #AI #GoogleUpdate #QualityContent #SEO Source: Google Blog: https://lnkd.in/ejUvR-5e

Terrific article from SISTRIX about the AI vs SEO "duel" in web search. I agree with the findings: that Google will be able to defend its market share against emerging search engine competitors, and that demonstrating your expertise and becoming a recognisable brand should be the dominant web strategy. #seo #googleai #aio

🔍 Eric Schmidt, former Google CEO, predicts a future where search engines could bypass traditional links to directly deliver answers. This aligns with what I've been discussing with the Google SGE (Search Generative Experience) update and developments like Perplexity and a very cool ChatGPT search engine. I doubt no linking is for all content but rather quick-hit answers to questions. 🌟 Aligning content with Google's E-E-A-T standards, ensuring Expertise, Experience, Authoritativeness, and Trustworthiness, is more important than ever for your content to achieve visibility and credibility. What are your thoughts on the AI-driven future of search? How are you crafting content for an AI-powered search engine? I’ve had to check that it wasn’t still April 1st when reading the latest rumoured Google product release. Apparently they would like to introduce a search engine behind a paywall for premium search results powered by Artificial Intelligence. However the March Core Update for SEO includes it’s latest Helpful Content Update which will ‘collectively reduce low-quality unoriginal content’ which is often recognised as AI-generated content and improve ranking of sites where the content is ‘by people, for people’. So does Google see AI as a good thing or a bad thing for search engine users? One thing that stood out in the quote is that ‘Adverts would continue to appear alongside search results, even for subscribers’. So what it really tells us is revenue is king and we’ll screw as much out of people where we can! https://lnkd.in/eGBvjiTa
