How do we know whether net-zero committed companies are taking action on climate change? A fascinating study from Imperial College Business School explores this question, using a big dataset to evaluate the actions and activities that are most associated with impact and alignment. Firms that are least aligned with climate goals are ones that over-index on protecting their reputation and protecting their current activities against change. Firms that are most aligned with climate goals are investing in the future in low-carbon energy, new products, and collaborative action. Super interesting methodology and well worth a read! They also look at which SDGs are most associated with alignment. #climate #netzero #decarbonization #climatescience #commitments #climateaction #climatefinance #sdgs #research
Imperial college is strong on this topic. I would love to read the study.David Carlin would you be so kind and share the public link?
Also keen on link to report. Looks like it’s worth a read. ☺️
Very interesting and complex question! I often hear that only time will tell... therefore I am very happy to see that there is excellent progress in this respect too! Thanks for sharing, David Carlin!
Sounds like an interesting study David, thank you for sharing.

Sustainability
9moAm interesting report and an important question. I’d suggest also following the money. Are a company’s spending plans aligned with its sustainability aspirations? Is it’s spending - capex especially - taxonomy aligned?
