It's true... there is no (energy) transition without transmission. Our analysis in the National Transmission Planning Study found accelerating transmission deployment beyond historical rates can reduce power system CO2 emissions by billions of metric tons through 2050. In our modeled future grids, transmission expansion takes place across the country, while the most expansion takes place in the central wind belt getting clean energy where it needs to be.
