Congrats to Tobias Haug and the authors Are quantum algorithms classically simulable? In https://lnkd.in/dh58tTzd, we show that quantum annealing of 3-regular graphs (NP-hard) can be simulated with BP-tensor networks, even for 1000 qubits and 5M gates (0.3% of circuit below).

In this production scheduling example, Alex shows how the new solver allows for more compact representation of real-world problem scenarios and introduces new variable types, expanding the possibilities of what we can solve. He compares the performance between a classical solver and D-Wave's new hybrid quantum solver, demonstrating how the new solver provides a much better-quality solution for optimization problems. This 2019 publication had estimated which quantum algorithms can break current encryptions and how many qubits it may need to do so. (Source: https://lnkd.in/gJQ93Qyr) Does not look like immediate or near future threat as being circulated. Please enlighten if otherwise. #willow #encryption

🤣 This is positively delightful. An excerpt from the docs: “””It is a well-known fact that all useful computational devices ever created are capable of running DOOM. Despite decades of active research, there is yet to be developed a single practical use for quantum computers. This changes today, with the release of Quandoom, a port of the first level of DOOM designed for a quantum computer, given as a single QASM file, using a mere 70,000 qubits and 80 million gates. Although such a quantum computer doesn't exist right now, Quandoom is efficiently simulatable on a classical computer, capable of running at 10-20 fps on my laptop using the accompanying lightweight (150 lines of C++) QASM simulator.””” 🤣🤣🤣🤣
