Journey Through Time: JP's Adventures in the Spirits Industry and the Art of Armagnac What happens when you drive a German Shepherd and a minivan from Florida to Vermont for an internship that changes your life? My guest, Johnathan Page, fondly known as JP and the Minister of Time at Bhakta Spirits, shares his serendipitous journey into the spirits industry. Starting as an intern at Whistlepig in 2017, JP's story is filled with unexpected twists and turns riding shotgun with Raj Bhakta, the founder of Whistlepig and Bhakta Spirits and a force of nature in the spirits world. JP was alongside Raj as he left Whistlepig, as he took time to find his next venture, and as he discovered the wonders of armagnac. Directing Raj and his partner Leo Gibson from place to place around Tenareze (including some good-natured joking), JP went from a trusted associate to a key figure in Bhakta Spirits' development. He - by his own admission - didn't see himself in the spirits industry. Yet hearing him talk both in person and in this interview, the passion shines. He loves telling stories and meeting new people, introducing them to spirits they never thought they'd try let alone hear about. Plus, his stories about Raj are chef's kiss. Thanks everyone for listening, and thank you to JP for entering the Whiskey Ring! This is Tanmay Rathod, CSW, FWS with my wonderful cofounder of the #bordeauxmentorweek Vines By Rosa Bordeaux. One of our inaugural 2022 mentor week scholars, here working with Chinedu at #wineparis, Tanmay is going to be coordinating the applications for our 2024 week, as he knows exactly what is involved, and will do a wonderful job of helping us find the right people. The application form will be available as of this #newcontentthursday, March 7, and finalists will be given an online interview. This year's mentor week will be held from September 23 to 27, 2024, with the group staying at #chateaudutertre in Margaux, and as ever will be put through an intense week of immersion in the business of Bordeaux. Tanmay has the following advice: Who should apply? Anyone who wants to seriously develop a career in the wine industry and who doesn't have access to adequate education support or finance. What to expect? A rollercoaster ride of all aspects of a wine, starting from the soil to the consumer. By being in Bordeaux, you will have an advantage of a direct exposure to the Vineyards, Winery, Cellars, Negociants and a lot more. What to put in your application form? Tell us what intrigues you about wine and what you know about the Bordeaux Mentor Week. What career options in wine are you looking to pursue, what barriers you have faced, and how would BMW help you to achieve your goals. Also any previous experiences in any industry related to wine. So get ready to apply. No need to be a subscriber of the site, but it helps to sign up to the newsletter (for free, link in bio) so that you can read more about the process. #bordeauxmentorweek #mentorship #wineeducation #gerardbassetfoundation #iwscfoundation #winescholarguild #chateaudutertre #duquesneclub #bordeauxwine #winetraining #insidebordeaux #careerdevelopment #mentoring #businessofwine #wineindustry #jobsinwine #winecritic #wineexpert #diversityinwine

Attracting young people to the maritime industry can be challenging, but there are several strategies that can help🤔 One of our tactics is to invite schools to our vessels to meet the crew and learn more about life on board💡 Evelina and I want to share one of all success stories🛳️🙌 #stenaline #hr #rekryterapåplats
From Study Visit to Summer Job onboard! During this spring, we arranged study visits to give students an insight into our various onboard departments and a glimpse of what a day at sea can look like. There, Magalí Guzmán and I met a cheerful and interested group from Elof Lindälv’s Restaurant & Food Program. One of the culinary students, Joachim, who is in his second year of high school, became particularly interested and applied for a seasonal position onboard as a chef. After going through the recruitmentprocess he was offered a postition as a chef onboard Stena Jutlandica. We've followed Joachims journey onboard during this summer and he has sent us some pictures to show us what he's done and all the fun he had before and during his time onboard. We even took the chance to taste his delicious pizzas when we visited Jutlandica! This is what’s great about my job—attracting young people to the maritime industry and following their journey onboard.

An excellent example of how a cold food offering at HAF can be nutritious. The long standing argument that the food at HAF must be hot is not founded on research findings. Often people have cited research comparing school packed lunches, prepared by parents, to school meals (that are subject to SFS). This is not the correct comparison within the context of HAF where the cold food options are prepared at HAF clubs. All food at HAF, whether hot or cold, should comply to SFS, and there is clear research evidence that cold lunches can be equally nutritious to hot meals. This is not to say that children and young people don't welcome a hot meal, especially when it is raining! But on very hot days, sitting down to a hot meal in the middle of activities is not always welcome. Rather, a hybrid model that builds on local assets and expertise to meet SFS should always be the priority to improve children's and young peoples dietary intake. Well done to Pam Noel MRSPH and team.
What a week! Around 1000 children and young people, with their families have attended events across the week participating in sport and physical activity opportunities, along with a huge variety of food preparation, tasting and creating of sundaes, noodle pots and ice pops to name a few! Thanks to Digbeth Dining and our fantastic UCB students that have worked with diligence and teamwork all week. Summer HAF Bring it on Brum has commenced!! 3 things…today 1️⃣THANK YOU Ron Johnson for inviting me to the WIBO event(was 🔥)! 2️⃣Be observant and have an open mind 3️⃣Valuable lessons aren’t always obvious 1️⃣ word…Catering I didn’t expect to learn the lesson of “think in terms of what is easiest for the end consumer”. When organizing the drinks, I thought the “best” way was to just organize and make it look nice, but there’s soooo much more to it. Everything is done for a reason. Here’s what I noticed 👀 🥤Putting ginger ale in front rather than in the back of the drinks made it wayyy easier for everyone to grab it rather than having to learn forward and grab it🥤 The result? People chose to drink more ginger ale(obviously other factors may have played a role in it as ginger ale seems more “healthier” than coke or [insert drink here]. Convenience and simplicity > Aesthetics💅

Very happy to have successfully completed my online course in Science of Gastronomy from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. This is my first step into the world of food technology and I look forward to continuing my learning in the field. I was introduced to food research and science during my last internship and a real interest was born! It seems more than necessary and interesting to understand the technical aspect behind each ingredient in order to grow and evolve as a chef. #foodgastronomy #foodscience #research #foodtechnology #hkust #plantbasedcooking

K-Food Fair (Business to Customer) is a Korean fair organized at Sunway Pyramid from 13 October 2023 until 15 October 2023. Our event client is Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation (aT). The event aims to encourage customers to buy Korean products launched in Malaysia. During the pre-event, I had to prepare all the goodies for three days. The goodies need to be given to the media, VIPs, performers, winners, and participants. I also need to check the schedule for three days to make sure all the performers get their goodies.I need to supervise all the part-timers. I had to ensure they understood their job scope. I had to confirm with DCOM staff such as the photographer, and console team whether they needed part-timer help while doing their duty. In the B2C K-Food Fair, I improved my critical thinking skills. During an event, my colleagues were in their own position during their job. I had to deal with the situation when part-timers were seeking my answer and approval. I tried to make decisions that benefit my team members, clients, and part-timers. Using critical thinking skills in decision-making allows me as a leader to identify problems and develop solutions advantageous during events. Decision-making by leaders must always be fair and objective and involve the use of appropriate language when communicating. I had to ensure part-timers could understand and fulfill my request.
