Do you always sacrifice your copy on the altar of SEO? THINKING OUT LOUD HERE I had a designer blatantly change my client-approved copy for what they claimed was the purpose of SEO. What they changed it to was something same-samey, bland, and boring! It was done without the client's agreement. In a very busy digital world, especially for solopreneurs who haven't considered any other SEO strategy, I'm wondering what's more important when it comes to your website copy. Is it capturing attention and keeping people reading enough to convert them or is it keyword stuffing in the hope to be found on google? Curious?

There are three ways to break down SEO to gain more traffic: On-page: This comes down to including keywords in your on-page content, producing high-quality content frequently, and ensuring that your metadata is written effectively and incorporates rich keywords. Off-page: Optimizes spaces outside of your site, such as building backlinks. This aspect of the SEO formula requires building relationships and producing content others want to share. Even though off-page efforts require a lot of labor, your SEO success depends on it. Technical: As the name suggests, technical SEO involves improving website elements that are not related to content. Examples include optimizing your site’s structured data, crawlability, speed, and mobile-friendliness.

SEO must demonstrate "expertise, authoritativeness, and trustworthiness (E-E-A-T)."... Neil Patel Neil Patel, an online marketing savant, reminds us that if you serve as an expert witness, you must demonstrate expertise and a command of your field--on your website--if you want calls and cases. "Ever wonder how Google decides what’s “helpful content” and what isn’t? A recent study analyzed 260,000 search results to find out. Here are some of the key factors they identified: Content must demonstrate thorough expertise, authoritativeness, and trustworthiness (E-E-A-T). The use of related topics and keywords is crucial (known as semantic SEO). Faster load times and smaller HTML sizes positively impact rankings. Comprehensive content that’s well-optimized for user intent ranks better. Informational searches require more comprehensive topic coverage than buyer intent searches. Domain authority is a significant ranking factor. Does your content hit the mark? If not, your rankings are at risk." -Neil Patel
