I've hit a significant milestone today, celebrating 30 years in the Auto Industry! 🎉 Over these three decades, I've witnessed the dynamic shifts within the market. From the rise and fall of conversion vans, small cars, and muscle cars to the current battle between gas guzzlers and eco-friendly units, the industry has truly evolved. One of the common questions I receive is about the transition of OEMs from sedans to SUVs and CUVs. The latest US market trend speaks volumes: while the sub-compact SUV/ CUV segment continues to soar, the sedan market is on a decline. This trend is a clear indicator of where the industry is headed., even with the rise of the EV Markets, most of those now are going SUV/CUV vs Sedan. Stellantis is recalling 21,069 hybrid crossover SUVs in the US because the brake pedal in the vehicles could disengage and stop working. Affected models include some 2024 through 2025 model-year Alfa Romeo Tonale plug-in hybrid SUVs and some 2024 model-year Dodge Hornet plug-in SUVs that are based on the same platform. According to the report, the brake pedal could inadvertently disengage while being applied. Dealers will reinforce the brake pedal by adding additional hardware. #recallmasters

The 2024 U.S. Initial Quality Study (IQS) by J.D. Power highlights that mass market vehicles outperform premium brands in initial quality, with an industry average of 195 problems per 100 vehicles (PP100). Battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs) have higher problem rates than internal combustion engine vehicles (ICEVs). Major issues include frustrating false warnings and connectivity problems with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Ram ranks highest among US mass market brands, while Porsche leads among premium brands. The study, which now includes dealership repair data, surveyed 99,144 new vehicle owners.
