#AcceleratorSpotlight: Deep Tech Lab - Quantum 📍Location: Copenhagen, Denmark   About: Deep Tech Lab – Quantum (DTL-Q) was inaugurated in 2023 at BioInnovation Institute (BII) in Copenhagen. DTL-Q drives innovation in quantum technology by supporting early-stage startups in bringing their science to life. Support Provision: 👉 Tailored programs focused on developing interdisciplinary teams, identifying and developing the most promising business case, and determining the most suitable technology development pathways for commercial viability and company growth. Achievements: 👉 DTL-Q successfully supported six companies in finalising the first phase of NATO DIANA’s accelerator program. NATO DIANA selected ten companies from their accelerator sites to participate in the second phase. Four of the selected companies are based at Deep Tech Lab - Quantum. 👉 The accelerator built an international investor network and an advisory group within quantum and deep tech. 👉 Aquark Technologies, part of their DIANA cohort, was the first DIANA company to receive a direct investment from NATO Innovation Fund (NIF).  Focus area: 👉 DTL-Q is specialising in projects at the intersection of quantum technology and life sciences. Arctic Instruments, a Finnish quantum startup, has raised €2.35M in funding led by Lifeline Ventures. The company is focused on advancing its superconducting microwave amplifier technology, which is critical for scaling up quantum computers. This breakthrough technology enables the creation of larger, more powerful quantum systems by providing consistent, near-quantum-limited amplifiers. Founded by Joonas Govenius, Visa Vesterinen, and Mário Ribeiro, Arctic Instruments is the only manufacturer capable of supplying thousands of these essential amplifiers. The funding will help the company expand production to meet the growing demands of industries such as chemicals, life sciences, finance, and mobility. As Greece’s first dual-use accelerator, it links a wide network of national and EU innovation ecosystems. Its goal is to assist SMEs in developing advanced products through dual-use technologies, bridging the gap between business, industry, and defence sectors. 🚀 Exciting Milestone for Ephos! 🚀 We're thrilled to announce that Ephos has raised $8.5M and opened the world’s first facility dedicated to the design and production of glass-based quantum photonic chips! Our proprietary technology will play a critical role in accelerating advancements in quantum computing, AI, and data centres. The seed round was led by Starlight Ventures, with participation from Collaborative Fund, Exor Ventures, 2100 Ventures, and Unruly Capital. Additionally, we are proudly supported by NATO DIANA and the European Innovation Council and SMEs Executive Agency (EISMEA) in our mission to transform the future of computing. Today, to meet growing customer demand, we are opening a new fabrication facility in MIND Milano Innovation District, one of Europe’s most ambitious technology hubs. This plant will accelerate our mission to power quantum and classical infrastructure, more efficiently and securely. Our chips are built entirely in-house and our supply chain relies exclusively on US and EU suppliers. This funding round will also help us to expand our presence in the United States, scaling our team in San Francisco. In other words: we are hiring!
