Let's talk about how to be proactive with the heating and cooling of your home. Did you know that air sealing your attic can enhance energy efficiency? It helps maintain a consistent temperature in your home, benefits your heating and cooling system, and saves you money. Even with insulation, an unsealed attic can allow hot air to seep into your cooled home during the summer and cold air to enter during the winter. For the best results on your home, you'll want to air seal your attic before adding more insulation. Call or text 910-424-7272 to speak with an expert at Day & Night Heating & Air Conditioning about air sealing your attic.

You've heard us talk about air source heat pumps (a lot!) but how do they actually work? Here’s a step by step on how it heats your home: 🌡️ The outdoor unit pulls in air, where a refrigerant absorbs heat, even in cold weather! The refrigerant evaporates into a gas. 💨 This gas is then compressed, making it super hot and high-pressure. 🔥 The hot gas moves to the indoor unit, releasing its heat to warm your home. The refrigerant cools back into a liquid. ❄️The cool liquid refrigerant passes through an expansion valve, drops in pressure and temperature, and is ready to absorb more heat! As the temperature turns, heating your home will be on your mind. The SuSy House app connects you to local retrofitters who can help you on your journey to sustainable heating. #SustainableLiving #Retrofitting

🌨️ Cool as Snow, Even in the Heat 🌡️ Did you know that a heat pump isn’t just for warming up your home? It can also keep you cool on scorching days! How? 🤔 While radiators and floor heating pipes are great for winter warmth, they can't handle cooling effectively. That’s where a fan coil unit comes in. When you switch your heat pump to cooling mode, it chills the water like a fridge. This chilled fluid then travels to the fan coils in your rooms, providing efficient cooling similar to an air conditioner—but with lower energy consumption, less noise, and a more economical upgrade. And in winter, if floor heating alone isn't enough, the fan coil steps in to blow the extra hot air needed to keep your space cozy. Want to find out more about how fan coils and heat pumps can enhance your comfort year-round? Contact us today! https://lnkd.in/da9Cz7HW

What is a heat pump and why should I get one? A #HeatPump is an electric appliance that can replace both your traditional air conditioner and home heating system (like a boiler). Heat pumps are 3-5x more efficient than traditional heating systems (like furnaces) and work in all climates. They do not run on gas and use energy efficiently, saving money on heating and cooling. Did you know? Having thermostats near windows or doors can lead to inaccurate temperature readings and inefficient heating or cooling. This is because drafts and temperature fluctuations near these areas can trick your thermostat into thinking your home is colder or warmer than it actually is, causing your HVAC system to work harder and consume more energy. For optimal efficiency and comfort, it's important to have your thermostat placed in a central location away from these potential disruptions. Call today to schedule your estimate to relocate your thermostats and ensure your home stays comfortable year-round!
