Power reliability can spell life or death in healthcare. That is why hospitals and clinics in West Africa are turning to solar energy to power their critical loads. With 99.9% uptime from our systems, healthcare providers can rest assured that they can attend to their patients. We are proud to support healthcare providers with clean, affordable and reliable power. For our hospital clients in Lagos, Nigeria and Kumasi, Ghana, our solar systems act as backup power to run critical loads, like operating equipment in the ERs. We are proud to support hospitals across the region in delivering life-saving care for their patients. Are you a healthcare provider looking to adopt solar power as a reliable backup power? https://lnkd.in/d5SVA7Z9

Bringing light, power, and hope to rural healthcare: The A2E Project by Husk Power Imagine needing critical medical care, but the healthcare center is in darkness. This was the reality for many rural communities across Nigeria, where unreliable power has long hindered access to quality healthcare. But thanks to the Access to Energy (A2E) Project, led by Husk Power and supported by key stakeholders like Nasarawa State Primary Healthcare Development Agency (NAPHDA), and EDP Renewables, the story is changing. In Doma, Nasarawa State, four rural healthcare centers, serving over 951 patients monthly, now have 24/7 access to clean, reliable power through our solar hybrid systems. These centers can now operate life-saving medical equipment like vaccine fridges and microscopes, providing consistent care—even at night! But we didn’t stop there. We’re empowering communities economically, too. We’ve integrated retail kiosks offering services such as phone charging, e-bike battery swapping, mobile banking, and even a cold store for beverages. This creates jobs, supports local business, and ensures the sustainability of the project. Key voices in this movement, including Olu, Aruike Olu (Country Director), Esther Adeniji (Project Coordinator), and Dr. Absalom Madawa (NAPHDA Representative), share their insights on the impact of this initiative. At the heart of this transformation are the local technicians and medical practitioners trained to operate and maintain these systems, ensuring that the project has a lasting impact. This is more than a project—it’s a movement towards sustainable healthcare, economic growth, and clean energy access for all. Join us in celebrating the power of innovation, solar energy, and the human spirit. #SolarEnergy #RuralHealthcare #Sustainability #CleanEnergy #HealthcareTransformation #HuskPower #NAPHDA #RenewableEnergy #SocialImpact #LinkedIn #EDPRenewables

The #healthcareindustry is an energy-intensive sector, with hospitals and healthcare facilities consuming large amounts of energy to operate equipment, power, lights and maintain temperature-controlled environments. Power outages can be devastating for healthcare facilities, and they can result in the loss of life-saving medical equipment and medications and, consequently, loss of human lives. By using #solarenergy, healthcare facilities can ensure a reliable and uninterrupted power supply, even during power outages. Some benefits of Solar for the Healthcare Industry: 1. Saving Humanlife 2. Cost Saving 3. Reliability 4. Environmental Sustainability 5. Enhanced Reputation The future of solar power in the healthcare industry is promising, with the potential for continued growth and adoption, as healthcare facilities become more aware of its benefits. This is why we, Pirano Energy, are very excited about our partnership with the Healthcare Federation of Nigeria as it gives us an opportunity to partner with healthcare players - owners, medical professionals, investors, workers etc. Saving cost; Saving the environment; Saving lives! See you at Booth 24 today and tomorrow at Harbour Point, Victoria Island, Lagos! #PiranoEnergy #solarenergy #affordableandcleanenergy #sdg7 #climatechange #climatechangesolutions #2024hfnannualconference

🏥💡 In #Kenya🇰🇪 and #Uganda🇺🇬, hospitals and medical centers are facing significant challenges stemming from frequent power outages. These facilities urgently require reliable sources of electricity to ensure consistent lighting, secure vaccine storage, maintain water provision, facilitate sterilization of medical equipment, and power essential appliances like ventilators and oxygen concentrators. To tackle these issues, our "Demand Side Management, Social Infrastructures, and Renewable Energy Expansion (DESIREE)" programme, funded by the European Investment Bank (EIB), is launching two groundbreaking initiatives. These initiatives aim to electrify both public and private hospitals in Kenya and Uganda using renewable energy, particularly focusing on solar photovoltaic (PV) systems.☀️ The #DESIREE programme is lighting the way towards clean and efficient energy across developing nations, fostering innovation and sustainability through technical support, capacity building, and blended finance solutions. I love this : it is simple and clear : it is the new way to bring energy to people , to improve their life to enable sustainable progress Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL) does this.
Health facilities need reliable electricity around the clock to treat patients and save lives. But across Sub-Saharan Africa, a staggering 25,000 healthcare facilities lack access to electricity entirely, while around 70,000 health centres have an unreliable electrical supply. Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL)'s Powering Healthcare programme equips governments and development partners with the evidence and solutions needed to achieve universal, sustainable electrification of health facilities by 2030. The programme aims to inspire stronger commitments and national projects, increase public and private investments and improve sustainability of interventions. Through this programme we have implemented the Sierra Leone Healthcare Electrification Project, which has installed solar PV and battery systems at six key hospitals in Freetown, Kambia, Masanga, Kabala and Bonthe, with support from the UK and in close coordination with the Sierra Leonean Ministry of Health and Sanitation (MoHS); Crown Agents and EM-ONE Energy Solutions are also key partners in this project. Here is a video that showcases the need for #PoweringHealthcare and what it means for healthcare providers and the local communities they serve.

We're excited to support the Sierra Leone Healthcare Electrification Project and Sustainable Energy for All (SEforALL)'s efforts to bring clean #energyaccess to hospitals! 🔆 🏥 🇸🇱 Crown Agents, nLine, and the Access to Energy Institute have been collaborating in providing & installing smart meters on six major hospitals on #SierraLeone - monitoring energy consumption by power source and evaluating the energy needs of the facilities over an extended period of time. The live tracking of consumption data via the open-source data platform #Prospect - a collaboration between A2EI and GET.invest - allows for the subsequent evaluation of individual load profiles and energy demand. The data analysis lets us gain a better understanding of how to both calibrate #solar solutions for individual clinics and dimension solar systems specifically geared towards the entire #healthcare sector. We will be sharing the results of our analysis here in the near future - watch this space for more! 📊 🔆 Ministry of Health & Sanitation - SL / Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office / EM-ONE Energy Solutions #SustainableEnergy #UniversalHealthcare #SDG3 #SDG7 #SDG13 #opensource #data #StopGuessing #renewables #solarenergy #DataDrivingEnergyAccess #PartnershipsForTheGoals #ClimateAction #LeaveNoOneBehind
