Can we, as orthopedic trauma surgeons, do something to prevent this? Absolutely! By implementing early geriatric co-management and clinical optimization strategies, especially for frail patients. Fascinating incidental finding shared by a neuroradiologist. He identified aneurysmal bone cysts within the ilia with fluid/fluid levels and bone expansion. Over time, the cortical bone thins and is susceptible to pathologic fracture. Any associated chiropractic contraindications? Orthopedic referral? Advanced post-graduate coursework should offer uncommon insight so our doctors can see what others do not.
