The Most Popular Passwords of 2024 In our increasingly digital world, passwords remain a cornerstone of online security, even as biometric options gradually gain traction. Despite widespread advice on creating strong passwords—including using a mix of numbers, symbols, and letters—millions of people continue to rely on weak, easily guessable ones. This habit leaves them vulnerable to hacking and cyber threats. To shed light on global password trends in 2024, cybersecurity and password management company NordPass partnered with NordStellar for an extensive analysis. Using a 2.5TB database compiled from publicly available sources, they examined password habits across 30 countries. Here's what their research uncovered.

First things first: It is highly unlikely that it is a new cyber attack. What it does seem to be is a new technique from LockBit 3.0, who look to be duplicating old company listings from its own and other dark web leak sites. Could be incidents connected to its affiliates. Separate investigations by myself, Design Intoto Pty Ltd and researchers at Ransomfeed.it show no evidence of new breaches, but conclude that this is a desperate ploy by LockBit 3.0, who has been struggling since Operation Cronos brought them down. Will be interesting to see how LockBit 3.0 proceeds going forward.
Exclusive: LockBit 3.0 appears to be duplicating old listings as Design Intoto named a second time

#NEW #SHARE DarkGate Malware Replaces AutoIt with AutoHotkey in Latest Cyber #Attacks. Cyber attacks involving the DarkGate malware-as-a-service (#MaaS) operation have shifted away from AutoIt scripts to an AutoHotkey mechanism to deliver the last stages, underscoring continued efforts on the part of the threat actors to continuously stay ahead of the detection curve. The updates have been observed in version 6 of #DarkGate released in March 2024 by its developer RastaFarEye, who has been selling the program on a subscription basis to as many as 30 customers. The malware has been active since at least 2018. A fully-featured remote access trojan (RAT), DarkGate is equipped with command-and-control (C2) and rootkit capabilities, and incorporates various modules for credential theft, keylogging, screen capturing, and remote desktop. https://lnkd.in/eZnHJdHp

A denial of service (DoS) attack is an attempt to overload a website or network, with the aim of degrading its performance or even making it completely inaccessible. Typically a successful DoS attack will result in loss of availability of part, or all, of a system, and consume time and money to analyze, defend and recover from. Here, I had tried to bring the concept of dos attack on one sheet a report on dos attack which is a major issue in today's cyber world #Cybersecurity #cybersecurityresearcher #ethicahacker #webpentester #networkpentester Mrwebsecure Infosolutions Private Limited
