Election Day is coming up! A reminder that California law allows folks to take up to two hours off to vote, without losing pay. Voting time off needs to be at either the beginning or end of a regular shift, whichever allows the most voting time and the least time off from a regular working shift. Workers must notify employers at least two working days prior to the election if they think they'll need time off to vote. Employers must post a notice to their employees advising them of provisions for taking paid leave for the purpose of voting in statewide elections. I would also recommend daily reminders at an all staff or via email that this law exists and you encourage your workers to use it.
