Fair Market Valuations can help in the event of a dispute. Example: The owner of this 1984 Olds Hurst/Olds bought this car with the understanding that it had only 4,000 miles put on the car since it was new. The seller presented this car as a low mileage, 100% original car that was in Excellent Condition or Concourse grade condition. However, after the buyer received the car, he started questioning the validity of the claims made by the seller and felt that things just did not add up. He enlisted the help of CFL Auto Appraise to help verify his thoughts and document the issues. We were able to provide him with a complete Certified Fair Market Auto Appraisal that confirmed his suspicions. We did in fact find that the car had been painted at some point and did in fact have Bondo in the rear 1/4 panels. We were also able to determine that the mileage was more than likely not correct by looking at the wear and tear of the vehicle, The claimed 4K mile car was not plausible after looking at different components and the amount of wear that was completely documented. In the end, the seller bought the car back from this buyer and hopefully learned a lesson. In a dispute over a vehicle you purchased. Looking at the current new car offerings, it's evident that the average new car price is $47,000. The majority of OEMs have shifted away from sedans and stopped selling small sedans. Additionally, EV vehicles come with a higher sticker price than ICE (Internal Combustion Engine) cars. Consumers are now facing a situation where a car payment equals their rent or mortgage payment.
