Oxfordshire’s Reaction Engines in talks with Whitehall on rescue deal – reports ⚙️🤝 Aerospace manufacturer Reaction Engines is in talks with Whitehall about a potential cash injection from the UAE, Sky News has reported. The Oxfordshire-based firm has apparently been negotiating a deal for several weeks with the Strategic Development Fund (SDF) – the investment arm of the UAE’s Tawazun Council. With mounting losses and slow revenue growth this past year, Reaction Engines is keen to secure a £20 million lifeline to avoid collapse. Recent discussions with government officials have reportedly concerned the sensitive defence and security implications of its aviation cooling technology, which has potential applications across a range of existing and future military aircraft. No buyers for Quickstep MRO business at Tullamarine, will close Aerospace composites manufacturer Quickstep has been unable to find a buyer for its loss making Quickstep Aerospace Services maintenance business at Tullamarine in Melbourne, and will close the operation. The Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) operation was originally purchased from Boeing Australia, with Quickstep investing $4 million and expanding the operation in 2021. QAS works on Boeing, Airbus, Embraer and Bombardier civilian aircraft, as well as F/A-18 Classic and Super Hornets, C-130J Hercules and CH-47 Chinooks. However hopes of broadening the scope of MRO work offered to include F-35 sustainment and other defence and commercial platforms did not eventuate, with losses from the Tullamarine part of $10 million in losses booked by the company in recent years. #aerospace #manufacturing #composites @QuickstepTech Quickstep Group https://lnkd.in/gJaHiMBy
