What does it mean to be a successful woman? The answer is as diverse as women themselves. Success isn’t confined to one path, one role, or one set of rules. It’s about embracing what matters most to YOU. Yesterday, my colleagues and I had the incredible honor of receiving the 40 Under Forty award. This recognition celebrates individuals for their experience and innovation, vision, leadership, and community involvement. This award isn’t just a celebration of our achievements; it’s a reminder of the responsibility we have to inspire the next generation of young women to dream big, aim higher, and create their own definitions of success. 💕✨ A successful woman could be: 🥇A professional breaking barriers and leading in her field. 🥇A community advocate using her voice to inspire change. 🥇A mother nurturing the next generation with love and resilience. 🥇An entrepreneur building her dream from the ground up. 🥇Or all of these combined—because why limit ourselves? True success is personal fulfillment. It’s achieving goals that resonate with your values, overcoming challenges with resilience, and living life authentically. To all the women redefining success every day: Your journey is powerful. Keep challenging norms, pursuing your passions, and shaping a future where every woman can thrive on her own terms. #40UnderForty #WomenInLeadership #SuccessStories #Empowerment #Inspiration #WomenSupportingWomen

Attending National Women's Enterprise Day was so empowering last week, I left feeling inspired by the women speaking like Mary Kennedy, Oonagh O'Hagan, Lorraine Heskin, Breda McCague and Fiona Buckley! Here are some of my key takeaways that really resonated with me... 💡As women, we are miraculous human beings 💡If you can't see it, you can't be it 💡Work-life balance is key to success 💡When times get tough, get the team together 💡Your health is everything 💡It doesn’t matter what you do, just do your best 💡You are what you absorb" – Oonagh O’Hagan 💡Feel the fear and do it anyway Feeling grateful for the opportunity to learn and grow alongside so many incredible women. It's easy to feel too busy or under pressure to attend events like this, but I'm so glad I went! The insights and takeaways that I’ve gained are invaluable and I’m excited to put these into practice in business 🎇 #NWED #WomenInBusiness #Inspiration #Leadership #Empowerment #Entrepreneurship

When women gather, wonderful and affirming conversations happen Early this year I had the privilege of working with the #brilliantwomen who joined me on the Brilliant Women Mastermind workshop in NYC. #BrilliantWomenMastermind was always meant to be a journey where women supported each other beyond the 2 days spent together. Their connections continued on as they moved back into the daily rhythms of their lives, the to-do lists, the work challenges, the family needs, and travel, but always reminded that we created a #sisterhood, on standby, ready to help each other keep moving forward with their goals. Creating safe and vulnerable spaces for women to share their stories and lift each other up leads to transformation - point blank, period! That's why I'm ready and so excited to do it again. Our next #BrilliantWomenMastermind is September 19-20th and I Cannot wait to meet and welcome another group of women into the room together in New York. It’s not too late to join us, we have a couple of spots left. We'll be keeping it tight - with no more than 12 women - so why not join us?! Shirley created and led a unique program for a group of accomplished, committed women to come together to form community and to explore, learn from her, and support each other in manifesting our highest selves and aspirations in our lives and in our work. Shirley’s deep study of family and social systems and decades of exemplary executive coaching experience shone through … we had the unusual opportunity to share about ourselves and our work with the group, and develop specific plans for moving our work and our lives forward. There are women who support, protect, encourage, and build one another up, thus creating vital networks of lifelong support and friendship. 👍 And there are women who believe (erroneously) that they must tear down other women and cause harm in order to "get ahead" in life. Please choose your path wisely. It's important that we not only look into the future to glimpse the potential outcomes of our actions, but it's also important that we can look into the mirror daily and like who we see upon reflection. We can all support one another and rejoice over the victories of other women and their lives. #WomenSupportingWomen #BeKind #DoNoHarm #ThereIsRoomForEveryone #IntegrityInLife #IntegrityInTheWorkforce

"When you’ve worked hard, and done well, and walked through that doorway of opportunity, you do not slam it shut behind you.” - Michelle Obama. This quote embodies women supporting women. It's about paving the way for others, especially the next generation. As the grandmother of my beautiful 14-month-old granddaughter, Maia, I am driven to create sustainable leadership and advocate for women, aiming to build a world where she can dream big and achieve anything. The Reality We Face 😢 Despite progress, women hold only 1 in 4 C-suite positions, with women of color at just 1 in 16. Representation and opportunity gaps are still significant. Why We Must Act Now Fact: Women are as ambitious as men. However, 70% of women feel their contributions go unrecognized, leading to disengagement and higher turnover rates. How We Can Empower Each Other 💥 Support Each Other: Share knowledge and resources. Mentorship, coaching, and sponsorship are crucial. Tip: Highlight and celebrate the achievements of women around you. 💥 Create Inclusive Environments: Listen and respond with empathy. Ensure every voice is heard and valued. Tip: Practice active listening and foster a culture of inclusion. 💥 Lead with Resilience: Show strength and compassion, especially in tough times. Tip: Share your stories of overcoming challenges to inspire others. 💥 Address the Broken Rung: Ensure women have equal opportunities to advance into leadership roles from the start of their careers. Tip: Promote women into management positions and provide necessary support and training. Our workplaces thrive when everyone has a chance to shine. Companies with greater gender diversity are 15% more likely to outperform their peers. This is about creating a successful and innovative future for all. As Simon Sinek says, "We’re all students of leadership." Embracing continuous learning and supporting one another makes us stronger together. Let’s uplift each other, open doors, and create opportunities for future leaders. Let’s build a legacy our children and grandchildren will be proud of. We show up as our authentic selves, embracing the highs and the lows, because it’s in our vulnerability that we find our greatest strength. Leadership is not about perfection; it's about being real, learning as we go, and inspiring others to do the same. It’s about empowerment—lifting each other up, breaking barriers, and creating space for more women’s voices. 🌟 Celebrating Women's History Month: Empowering Insights from Women Leaders! 🌟 Yesterday, I closed out Women's History Month by attending a fireside chat at the Eisenhower Executive Office Building of the White House. The event, presented by the NSC, featured Women in National Security. The panelists are trailblazing women leaders in National Security supporting the Department of Defense, the White House, and Civilian Security, Democracy and Human Rights. They shared incredible insights on their career ascend. Their wisdom not only inspired but also identified paths for others striving for career success. Some insights shared: 💡 Lean into Your Position: Fully embrace your role. Instead of shying away from challenges, lean into them with confidence and determination. 💡 Be Prepared with Material and Ready to Discuss Details: Take the time to gather relevant information, anticipate potential questions, and ensure you're well-equipped to contribute meaningfully to the conversation. Being ready to discuss details involves actively listening to others' perspectives, asking probing questions, and synthesizing information to arrive at well-informed conclusions. 💡 Seek Mentorship: Proactively seeking a mentor can accelerate your professional development, overcome obstacles, achieve greater career success, and expand your network and opportunities. With a mentor, you're able to gain access to a wealth of knowledge and wisdom that can help you make informed decisions, avoid common pitfalls, and capitalize on opportunities. 💡 Take on Challenges Consistently: Success doesn't come without its fair share of challenges. Every challenge is an opportunity for growth and a chance to showcase your resilience. 💡 Set More Boundaries for Yourself: Prioritize self-care and maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Establish boundaries that safeguard your well-being and nurture your personal and professional growth. 💡 Learn How to Reset and Re-center Yourself: Pause, recalibrate, and re-center ourselves. Whether through meditation, mindfulness practices, exercise, taking a moment to breathe, or discover your own way to self-reflection and finding inner peace. During Women's History Month, countless achievements of women were honored. Let's carry forward these invaluable tidbits of wisdom shared by our esteemed leaders. Together, let's continue to uplift, empower, and inspire one another on the journey towards greater equality and success for all!
