Rope Access Manager, Technical Authority

The IRATA mid transfer rescue is an iconic L3 manoeuvre . It requires good understanding of gear limitations and can require delicately multitaski multiple devices . It’s essential that L3s continue to improve their craft, and learn as industry leaders . The mid transfer reacue can come in many shapes and sizes , keep up the homework and always continue learning . A good level 3 will always teach you as much as they can, they don’t just watch from the handrails , they are continuously reacue planning , and making sure the workers under their supervision don’t compromise their own , or other personal safety . Ask/learn/strive for excellence

From close observation as a L3, mid-transfer rescue tensioned to a good height further than what's seen in this picture poses a threat to trainees perhaps the rescue procedure remains same but with more tactics and energy. The last guys who trained with Heightworks Nigeria Limited went through some endearing maneuvers as they were used to the training positions but the assessor gave a twist. ✌️

During my first upgrade to L3 this was quite complex to understand but over the years and for subsequent reassessment the principles and understanding became clearer and this has become one of the sweetest manoeuvre anytime I do my L3 reassessment. We just have to keep on learning and ensure we understand the capability of our equipment.
