Coconut production in Cambodia has steadily increased in recent years due to favorable climatic conditions and government support for agricultural development. As of now, Cambodia is not among the top coconut-producing countries globally. However, with strategic planning, investments in infrastructure, technology advancements, and implementation of efficient agricultural practices, there is a viable opportunity for Cambodia to substantially boost its coconut production and become one of the top three coconut producers in the world. Our goal at BOB COCONUT 🥥 is to make Cambodia one of the top three coconut producers in the world demonstrates ambition and vision for the agricultural sector in the country. By focusing on increasing productivity, ensuring quality standards, fostering innovation, and expanding market reach, this objective is achievable over time. Building partnerships with industry experts, leveraging research and development, providing training programs for farmers, and enhancing supply chain efficiency will be essential steps towards realizing this goal. Furthermore, promoting sustainable practices and adhering to international agricultural guidelines will enhance Cambodia's reputation as a reliable and competitive coconut producer on the global stage. #bobcoconut #cambodiancoconut #proudlycambodian

🌍 *Journey of Supporting Borneo Cocoa at the Equatorial Point, Murung Raya, Central Kalimantan, Indonesia* 🌍 In the heart of Borneo, we’ve embarked on an exciting journey to provide end-to-end cocoa training, covering all aspects from upstream to downstream. Here, most of the cultivated cocoa consists of ICCRI 06 H and ICCRI 08 H hybrids, delivering an impressive yield of 1-1.2 kg per tree with relatively minimal maintenance. In this region, the indigenous Dayak community brings a wealth of local wisdom to cocoa cultivation, deeply rooted in their connection with the land. The cocoa is also intercropped with rubber and integrated with swiftlet bird farming, creating a sustainable and multifaceted agricultural system. Proud to be part of this remarkable journey, where traditional agriculture meets innovative practices, fostering economic resilience and environmental harmony in Borneo. #BorneoCocoa #SustainableAgriculture #CocoaFarming #Kalimantan #Agroforestry #ICCRI #EquatorialAgriculture #CocoaInnovation #EnvironmentalSustainability #AgriculturalDevelopment #DayakWisdom #LocalKnowledge

Last year, Vietnam’s exports of agricultural, forestry, and fishery products surpassed US$53 billion. Remarkably, Vietnam attained a historic agricultural export surplus of US$12.07 billion, constituting over 42.5% of the nation's overall trade surplus. Top performers were fruits, vegetables, and rice. I was pleased to share my insights with Vietnam News on the growing potential of Vietnam's food and beverage exports. Fresh and processed Vietnamese agricultural products are now widely available in supermarkets around the world. In the UK, for example, Vietnamese cashews dominate the market, holding an impressive 90% market share. It's time to move beyond the notion that certain markets are too difficult for Vietnamese agricultural products. These products are rich in flavor and variety and meet the global standards for food safety and human health. There's a Vietnamese saying, "Buy with friends, sell with partners," and this principle holds true even when doing business internationally. For exporters, identifying the right import partners and distribution channels is essential to reach the right customer segments. Our consultants at Public & Government Affairs at Edelman bring deep expertise in local markets and offer valuable guidance on market access procedures, helping businesses identify the right local partners across a wide range of industries. The durian season in Malaysia has ended, so why are the popular Musang King varieties still available on the streets of Singapore? Shin Min Daily News reported that some of these thorny fruits originate from Thailand or the Philippines but are branded as authentic Musang King durians to boost sales during the off-season. Most customers are tourists, with locals snubbing the taste of Thai and Philippine durians, the Chinese Evening Daily noted. A Shin Min reporter who visited Geylang's durian street in September found five stalls offering the Musang King, Black Gold, Black Thorn, Butter King, and Green Skin varieties, with prices ranging from $32 to $48 per kilogram. Strengthening Supplier Relationships in Peru🌍 At MWW, building strong supplier relationships and understanding the global agricultural landscape is key to delivering the best produce to our customers. Recently, our Category Buyer, Amarit Padda, took a valuable trip to Peru to meet local growers and refine our procurement strategy, focusing on avocados, pomegranates, and figs. Peru is a crucial supplier for MWW, providing not only these key products but also mangoes, ginger, mangetout, and sugar snaps. Peru's diverse climate zones—from coastal plains to Andean highlands—offer ideal growing conditions for various crops. Amarit witnessed firsthand how indigenous irrigation techniques, alongside modern methods like drip irrigation, help sustain agricultural production. However, this year's El Niño phenomenon has significantly impacted mango and pomegranate yields, with a reduction of 80% and 60%, respectively. Despite these challenges, Peruvian growers continue to demonstrate resilience and adaptability. Amarit's visit reaffirmed the strength of our partnership, and we remain committed to working closely with our suppliers to navigate climate-related challenges and keep delivering high-quality produce to the UK market. 📌Read the full story on our website: https://lnkd.in/eTBG-h6z #Sustainability #GlobalSupplyChain #Agriculture #MWW
