People are moving to Metropolitans and jobs are moving to small cities! While everyone is so fascinated and attracted towards metropolitan cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, etc tier 2 and tier 3 cities are reversing the game. In the last two years, smaller cities have seen a 25-30% surge in hiring. According to the ET Report, the leading ones include Bhopal, Cochi, Jaipur, Mohali, Chandigarh, Vadodara, Ludhiana, Indore, Lucknow, Surat and Coimbatore. This report has been trending on LinkedIn for the last two days. #Entrepreneurs and #professionals are constantly expressing their views and concerns due to another big release. It says that there has been a decline in IT sector hiring while e-commerce, banks, and pharmaceutical industries are going to experience job booms. Looking at all these unexpected news and reports, I wonder whether we're just thinking too much about what career or city is best or not. Every industry goes through ups and downs in an economy. All we need to do is upskill ourselves to thrive in any industry we choose to go in. Because other trending news claims that there is a shortage of skilled employees. There are jobs available in India but the skill gap is too large to fill the vacancies. However, I believe these topics are quite controversial. If we sit to discuss them, years may pass. On that note, I'll conclude this opinion-dropping. But I would like to hear your views and discuss them. Feel free to drop your opinions in the comment box. Let's chitchat! IT firms in India are increasingly shifting their focus to emerging cities like Ahmedabad, Coimbatore, Vishakhapatnam, Surat, Kochi, and Nagpur to meet their growing demand for flexible talent. These cities stand out with their skilled workforce, strategic locations, and robust manufacturing bases, making them compelling hubs for IT staffing. This trend is significantly reshaping the landscape of India’s IT staffing industry. This also necessitates a thorough evaluation of the technical capabilities of the talent and the hiring them faster than competitors. BarRaiser is placed well to help IT firms & GCCs do just that. #Hiring #techhiring #IT #ITES #GCC BTW, a few things to know:

Why are these 28 Indian cities becoming the New Tech Talent Magnet? According to recent data, 28 tier 2 & 3 cities are stealing the show in data center expansion 🏢 in India. The driving forces behind this decision? These 28 cities have more than 10% of the 5.5 Million tech talent pool 👨💻. 🌇 GCCs are increasingly evaluating tier-II towns to expand their operations 💰️ Hiring is 60-70% more cost effective, infrastructure more viable and scalable 👩💻 As per a CBRE, during the first half of 2023, about 22% of GCC centres were set up in tier-II cities, driven by the availability of existing and fresh talent. 🏡 Reverse migration of tech employees to their hometowns during the pandemic has shifted the battle for talent to tier-2 and smaller cities, which hold the default advantage of lower operational costs and low attrition rates. 🌳 This strategy is expected to have a two-fold impact: It can boost the local ecosystem 🌱 and reduce construction in the metros, thereby reducing pollution and water stress.
