A Letter to Potential Employer! All the details of our work experience/s are written and stated in our Resume. So, kindly refrain asking a question or stating such as "Ah! So you don't have experience in Oil & Gas/etc.?". Yes we do not have an Oil & Gas/etc. experience since our previous companies have no project/work in such field. But, it doesn't mean that we are not capable of doing our job well. Because we will not reached this years of experience by doing nothing in our previous organizations. We worked for a longer period of time with our previous employers for a good reasons. Otherwise, they will not allow us to stay if we are not competent to do our job. That is the evidence. So, If you will not give us a chance to work in different industry such as Oil & Gas/etc., we will never have it in our entire career. Always remember, no one is born working in such direct field. It is just so frustrating to be judged! But what I can say is, you missed the chance of having an employee that is a potential asset of the company. 😉

Marketing experts make more than drilling engineers. Here are the US averages and does not include bonuses or shares: Average Drilling Engineer III makes $156,614 annually. Average Marketing Communications Director makes $193,371 annually. (Credit Salary.com) I want to be clear that this is not an ego post. There's a large discrepancy in the oil and gas community when it comes to prioritizing marketing. Industries outside of O&G pay much higher for marketing expertise. What I've noticed is O&G hires an inexpensive marketing major who ends up being a glorified admin. Why is that? I have some thoughts but I want to hear yours. 👋👋👋 Hey I’m Rick and I’ve been in the oilfield. I’ve worked rig moves, supported midstream engineering staffs and had countless roles in the pumping unit servicing business. I’ve been around Oil and Gas the majority of my career and I’ve picked up on a dire need: Better marketing for oil and gas service companies. If you’re over wasting money on marketing and ready for a strategy that works, shoot me a DM. #ofs #oilfieldservice #drilling #drillingengineer #oil #oilandgas #permian #permianbasin #delawarebasin #midland #odessa

I’ve spoken with hundreds of candidates, and one thing I’ve noticed is that many do not include client or industry experience on their resumes. Unless you've signed an NDA preventing you from disclosing client details, you should absolutely include this information ❗ ❗ ❗ ❗ When I work with hiring managers, one of the first things they prioritize is industry experience. Why? Because hiring managers prefer candidates who are already familiar with the industry. They know the terminology, the processes, and how that industry typically operates. It means less time spent training and more time being productive from day one. So, here's a format to consider when updating your resume: 👉 {Company Name} + {Industry} For example: 👉 Benny's Fracking Solutions, Oil & Gas That’s it. This small tweak could give you a better shot at landing your next opportunity. Best of luck!

Thoughts: Why is it so hard these days to land a good position with an excellent team in the oil and gas industry? This is for all personnel with experience. It should be easy, but it's not. They overlook you're experience and go with personnel who have never been in the industry. But if I look at a different industry to go into, they tell me that I have never worked in this field before, so here comes the rejection for the position! So please explain. What can a person do differently to land a good position?

Attention Recruiters! I have a question: If a recruiter specializes in hiring candidates for the engineering or Oil & Gas industry, are they also eligible to recruit for other industries, such as hospitality or healthcare?

When applying for Oil & Gas jobs, it’s best to always assume your reader knows nothing about what you do. It’s also best to stick to covering EXACTLY what they’re asking for - nothing more, nothing less. Sometimes when you go above and beyond what’s asked in a job description, you come across as overqualified rather than landing in the top 1% of candidates. It also means that you shouldn’t assume your audience knows that your technical background can translate to something else. When I’m doubt, spoon feed your reader what they need to hear. This means putting ‘10+ years of experience in regional drilling fluids technical sales’ in the top of your resume if the job description SPECIFICALLY requires these things. Yes, you may have 18 years of experience. But they’re looking for 10+ years of experience. And writing ‘10+ years of experience’ also allows your content to align more closely with the job description in an ATS. Hope this helps, O&G friends! #oilgas #oilandgas #jobseekers #petroleum #energy #energystrong #drilling
