📰NEWS: We’re proud to have joined other leading organisations working towards a more gender-balanced defence industry by signing the Women in Defence Charter. With a female founder, and many of our suppliers and associates also being women, we’ve long been champions of women in the defence industry. By signing the charter, we, and other organisations, have agreed to: ✅Support the progression of women into senior roles in the defence sector. ✅Recognise the diversity of the sector and that organisations will have different starting points in the journey to gender parity. ✅Publicly report on our progress in delivering any internal targets. ✅Enable women to thrive in the sector, and enhance the individual and collective impact of women across defence. 🔗Read more here: https://loom.ly/qia1S_E #DefenceMarketing #DefenceCommunications #MarketingCommunications #WomenInDefence

International Women’s Day 2024 The WA Defence Industry International Women's Day was founded to do more than celebrate women, it was launched to create meaningful change. The event goes beyond the topics of empowerment, confidence and resilience building, and propels our industry into a time of action and accountability. Gender equality in defence is not just a matter of equality; it is essential for our security and prosperity. Diverse perspectives and experiences lead to better decision-making and innovation. When women are fully integrated into defence organizations, we see increased effectiveness and efficiency. In Western Australia, we are fortunate to have a strong and growing defence industry. Our state is home to leading-edge technology and expertise that are critical to Australia's defence capabilities. As we look to the future, we must leverage the talent and potential of all our people. By embracing gender equality in defence, we not only create a more inclusive and equitable society but also strengthen our national security. As we come together on International Women's Day, let us reaffirm our commitment to building a future where every individual can thrive and contribute to the defence and prosperity of our nation. It was a great honor to address the OSCE Security Committee on the critical topic of "Inclusion of women in all aspects of the security sector: main trends, challenges, and priorities", framed within Security Sector Governance and Reform. Thanks to the concerted efforts of the MALTA - OSCE24 Chairpersonship, the Security Committee Chairperson Ambassador Peter Burian, and the OSCE Secretariat, a meaningful dialogue on enhancing current initiatives and exploring new ones ensued. The commitment of the institutions and the participating States of the OSCE to make substantial and impactful strides to achieve, sooner rather than later, equal inclusion of women in the security sector is encouraging. With practical examples from the field and sharing of best practices, followed by an engaging discussion with OSCE participating States, the meeting concluded with commitments for further concerted action to achieve gender parity in the security sector at all levels - and in particular in decision making roles - but also for further investment in broadening and deepening the important initiatives to promote women in the security sector that are already underway across the OSCE region. #GenderParity #GenderEquality #SecuritySector #SSGR Photo credit: Micky Kroell/OSCE

To celebrate International Women’s Day and Women’s History Month, The Counterterrorism Group (CTG) is acknowledging the women who have opened possibilities for women within the security and humanitarian field and taken steps to make positive change. CTG will be sharing mini-profiles of women through March to acknowledge their commitment to their field and how they have created opportunities for women for generations to come. The first meeting to commemorate International Women’s Day (IWD) took place on March 19, 1911, after Clara Zetkin, the leader of the Women’s Office for the Social Democratic Party in Germany, presented the idea at an International Conference of Working Women in Copenhagen, Denmark, and received approval. Austria, Germany, and Switzerland honored the first IWD, which saw over one million women and men campaigning for women’s rights and the end of gender discrimination. In 1913, acknowledgment of IWD shifted to March 8 and has since established itself as an inclusive day to encourage collaborative action to promote women’s equality. For more information about International Women’s Day and how you can get involved: - https://lnkd.in/dGX7T8X - https://lnkd.in/e5hWZneS For information about the creation of International Women’s Day and its history up to the present day: - https://lnkd.in/gx-JBZV Women’s History Month takes place through March in the US, but originally began as Women’s History Week in 1981 when Congress passed it as Public Law for the week beginning March 7, 1982. Women’s History Week was recognized for the next five years until 1987 when Congress petitioned for the whole month of March in 1987 to be recognized as Women’s History Month instead. Congress continued to issue resolutions for Women’s History Month between 1988 and 1994, and since 1995, US Presidents have designated March as Women’s History Month. March celebrates women’s contributions and recognizes their achievements throughout US history. #InternationalWomensDay #IWD2024 #WomensHistoryMonth #EmpowerWomen #DiversityandInclusion #FemaleLeaders #WomenMakingChange #WomenSupportWomen #OSINT #Friday More information about Women’s History Month can be found here: https://lnkd.in/gFEtfwBv
